Drones are now flooded in the market because of their advanced capabilities and ease of use. Use of drones in this situation will make things cost effective and efficient. Drone equipped with camera can be used in many areas like monitoring, to keep people indoors, potentially tracking mass gatherings and identifying high risk areas.
Keeping in view the current state, developed countries are striving hard to survive with developing countries on the brink of crashing. In this time it is important to have a solution that is easy to develop by using hand on technology and doesn't require any knowledge to keep it operational. Smartphones are widely used and are accessible by everyone with web applications common across the globe. Acknowledging these, proposed system contains three ends i.e. Mobile-Application End, Web Application and Hardware.
The proposed system is a Human Activity detection system that ensures and monitors the use of mask, Social Distancing, Constant Policing, Monitoring, Mass Gathering and Corona Violations etc. System patrol long distances and cover wider area. Use of Artificial Intelligence proposed system will have full control over mask detection and simultaneously save the imagery of violators in database. Navigation of drone will be performed by desktop controls. HD camera will be used to transmit live footage. Web Application creates access to monitoring cells that can remotely preview the video imagery. This system consists of three parts i.e. Drone, Web Application and Mobile App.
Project Objectives1) The core objective we are trying to achieve is cost effective system that ensures the safety of individuals by providing real time monitoring, Social Distancing, Constant Policing, Monitoring, Mass Gathering and to check Corona SOPs Violations. We are providing a hand to our government by helping in imposing restrictions to reduce the number of deaths caused by naval disease. “There is no more important thing than a person’s life”. Thus helping our medical sector by increasing the use of masks thus reducing cases. Drone monitoring ensures high risk areas that allow medical to precisely locate and take measures thus reducing time and cost.
2) Our next objective is to provide a cost effective solution that becomes easily accessible to all the countries, easily implementable and doesn't require much expertise to operate. Our system is more of machine oriented then human oriented, means system will perform all the tasks and doesn't require much of human reliance except with piloting.
3) In COVID restricted areas where life of every individual is equal important, how can we forget our organizations that work to ensure safety protocols. We are focusing on the individuals that provide day and night duties to ensure nobody leave house that may spread the disease to neighboring areas. Our system doesn't require physical person to be in the area. All the work that a human can do we are doing with our project. The data is accessible to everyone via web application and can be viewed anywhere in the world. This important objective was the main reason we started this project.
4) Next thing we are missing is to have a record of people who are continuously breaking the rules. One person who got infected, advised to stay at home but he still lurking around in neighborhood despite repeat warnings. We solved this problem by having a database to store all the information of such individuals who continuously break the law. This help our organizations to pin point such peoples and perform necessary actions.
Project Implementation MethodWe are using latest technologies for our system. Our system has three ends i.e. Mobile Application, Web Application and Hardware. The details are as follows:
First we are using DJI Tello drone (easily available) for our project. We have a ground Support team who will be in an area with distance. Ground team task will be to fly drone on actual site. Drone will provide live stream which will then be used to perform image processing. As the stream will be transmitted to ground team computer it is then stream lived to our web application.
Web application is not for public use. It is used by the organization who want to have a check on COVID areas. We have an organization NDMA whose task is to reduce COVID cases by implementing measures. The stream is displayed lives to their screens with red boundaries if persons are without masks and green if they have a mask.
If a persons is not having a mask and is marked red by our system. Image of that frame will be stored in database which can be retrieved back by organization that is using the system. They will get a notification on their mobile consist of users who are registered with us or we have information of them. If such users are spotted violating the procedures they will get a notification of violations along with timestamp and date. This will help them keep the track of violations they did and help organization.
Benefits of the ProjectOur system is cost effective solution that has many features:
It is a very cost effective solution, with precise analysis of incoming data, and real time monitoring. Which lightened the burden on countries that can’t afford high costs. Existing systems are powerful drones which require team to control and monitor. 'These drones don’t have a web base architecture and mobile application. This puts them only to be used by specific peoples. Moreover proposed system has user interface which provide ease of use to handle drone precisely and accurately.
Use of Face Mask detection allow people to accurately monitor large number of audience in single time. This is something cannot be possible with naked eye. Human recognition enables us to pin point the person violating and send a message. We can add persons to our database which can only be done by admin.
Our system totally abolished the use of static cameras because they only provide single view, are very expensive, use network of wires, requires continuous maintenance, have physical storage, may subject to hazard disasters like short circuit and fire. All these problems are completely washed up by use of our system.
Our system used hardware this is easily available in market and other solutions can be modified to be used with our system. This is plus point for our system as limiting to single type reduce the boundaries of working system.
