Project Summary

House Modeling & Cost Estimator App is an android (Augmented Reality Based) application which models your house in 2D and 3D design. These models are easily customizable; user can dynamically change walls and water tank's length and height, floors, material quality etc & calculates its construction material cost, cost of wiring, piping and sewarage system along with labor cost and turnkey cost. This application is also able to generate models by scanning the architechtural map through smart phone camera.

Project Implementation Method

1. Unity 3D: It is a game development tool which is used for creating the application interface and house models.
2. C#: It is used to create scripts which adds functionalites in models as well as for the construction calculation.
3. Vuforia: It is used for adding the Augmented Reality feature.
4. Firebase: It is used for the database which holds user informaton and material costs.
5. SQLite: It is used to support vuforia which holds the data of models.

Benefits of the Project

Project is made on the idea that it gives benefits to:

1. Technical People (Civil Engineers, Architects)
2. Non Technical People (General users)

Technical People can use it for their daily works where they have to do floor plans which requires time and expensive gadgets i.e calculators which costs upto 50000 pkr to them, also when user ask them to show the designs they can also show them the designs in no time. They can also customize the model more technically for example Diameter of steel, Ratio of cement used, Ratio of aggregates, Sizes of pillars, Sizes of blocks etc and more with respect to the civil terms.

General users who intends to build a house and don't have much knowledge of construction will be using it for making their dream houses, so that they don't have to rebuild it after construction if they don't like the design, also they will be saved from false estimations of the contractors and they can build the houses according to their budgets.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliverable will consist of the following features:

1.  User can model their house by selecting template or by scanning a floor plan using Augmented Reality.
2. After modeling user can dynamically customize their houses by just finger touch.

3. After finishing customization, this app will calculate the construction cost along with the labor cost and material quantity.

   

4. In the end this application will generate a report along with model and prices and sends a copy this report to user's email.
