Undoubtedly, automation has made our life easy. Things are shifting from manual to automatic operations on a daily basis. In this project, we have developed a system which converts our home into a smart home. Our “Home automation system” is a simple and reliable technology, home appliances like fan, Bulb, AC, automatic door lock are controlled by Home automation system using Arduino Mcu Esp 8266 with WiFi module and an Android application. The project aim is to provide security and smartness to your home. People can not only operate their electrical appliances but could monitor their home from anywhere.

Project Objectives

Today people are looking at ways and means to better their lifestyle using the latest technologies that are available. Any new facility or home appliance that promises to enhance their life-style is grabbed by the consumers. Conventional wall switches have below mention problems:

· Switches are located in different parts of a house and thus necessitates manual operations like to switch on or off these switches to control various appliances. 

· It gets virtually impossible to keep track of appliances that are running and also to monitor their performances.

Project Implementation Method

In implementing the device there are some points we have to acknowledge in the final delivery of the system like handy,useful,power saving,security and full access to controllers.
First we had to fix and mount our components and hardware like load(bulb),contactor,socket,relay board,controller,sensor and led with power regulator. Then according to auxilary points defined we start our wiring. 5v DC supply provided to controller and relay board and sensor, camera and regulator . Now 220 v AC supply provided to the relay common points and loop it in parallel then take a wire with each open point of relay and connect with the specified load points and contactor auxilary point.now connect a led light with sensor to show its proper working and another led light is connected with circuit to show fan/ power regulator.
Now it is time to program the controller and defined the points with on/off switch,regulator,buzzer,timer. Now flash the controller and upload the program we made in controller specify the network(wifi address) and link the application with mobile and controller. Now the work is done its time to check its working. To check the working we operate each and single load of our device . Now the system is ready to use.

Benefits of the Project

· Using this project, we can turn ON or OFF appliances remotely  i.e. using a phone or tablet.

· The Project can be further expanded to a smart home automation system by including some sensors like Light sensor ,Safety sensors etc. And automatically adjust different parameters like room lightning ,Door locks etc

· Additionally we can connect to internet and control home from remote location over internet and also monitor the  safety

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

As the project is about power saving and control and had to be very handy and easy to use.
We delevering to just put the wires of loads and get access to the controlled items. An application is provided with the lable of the each controlled item e.g: load1,load2,load3. For heavy load item we provided a contactor to show how it is useful with load items like motors,ac,tv,iron,heater. To understand the proper connection and wiring we provided a wiring diagram. A PIR sensor is connected with the circuit to show how it is use to save power and a camera with access to full rotation of 360 degree for security purpose also the sensor is use with the security switch if needed. A power regulator to regulate devices like fans and other. Each item and device has its lable and name to know which load is working and after for troubleshoting purpose. A power socket to test the line of electricity.
