HITEC security automation system

Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject Summary

SUMMARY

We are looking forward to replace HITEC University’s manual gate token system with an attempted, genuine and smart system. Access control is the process of verifying a user's claimed identity and giving or denying the access.

The proposed security system contains vehicle identification system using passive type of RFID. The system stores all the necessary information about the driver and the vehicle. A new user is first registered with the system and the corresponding information is stored in RFID tag attached to the vehicle. This RFID tag will be accessible through the system. When a registered vehicle comes to the entry point, and put the tag into reader, the system checks whether it is registered user and vehicle or an imposter. If the user is registered one then the tab information is matched with the user information stored in system. The gate opens for the entry of the user after successful authentication and closes automatically after a specified time interval.

Project Objectives

OBJECTIVE

The aim of the proposed system is to construct a secure access control system to control the entry of various vehicles passing through a gate using RFID technology. RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is one of the consistent and speedy techniques for perceive the material dissent. These systems will become pervasive in our daily lives due to their low cost and easy to use characteristics. At the very simplest level, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technologies allow the transmission of a unique serial number wirelessly, using radio waves. The two key parts of the system that are needed to do this are the RFID 'tag' and the 'Reader'.

The proposed system is an automatic identification and authentication system which will be deployed at the main gate of the university to authenticate authorized people.

The proposed system aims to develop a very low cost authentication system based on the low cost components than those which are already available in the market. This approach will not only reduce the cost but also enhance the reliability and ease of maintenance of the authentication system. The flexibility of the proposed access control system will make itself suitable for various applications.

Project Implementation Method

IMPLEMENTATION METHOD

The principle target of this framework is to plan, execute and implement an advanced security framework in HITEC University where just authorized individual can be entered.

This security framework can actuate, confirm, and approve the client and open the entryway and show a green signal progressively for secure access. The upside of utilizing detached RFID is that it capacities without a battery and inactive labels are lighter and are more affordable than the dynamic labels. A concentrated framework deals with the controlling, exchange and activity errand. The entryway securing framework works ongoing as the entryway open immediately when the reader detects the tag.

The automatic security system will be implemented and constructed from fully welded, heavy gauge, high strength, structural steels completely encased with steel sheets to provide a self-shuttered module. Sub-surface fixing points ensure the barrier is completely secured to its foundation. UHF Reader and Control Unit housings will be made up of ABS plastic material. Traffic Lights, Inductive Loop and CCTV Systems will be used. Additional safety measures will be incorporated into the system if required.

Benefits of the Project

BENEFITS

The Automation of HITEC security can be an effective mean to control the access of vehicles entering and exiting the area. This framework can offer the advantage of un-assisted access to authorized users like students, residents and other staff of the university.

This project is going to be a good contribution towards theory and practice as HITEC is an army institute and can always be at the stake of any odd activity from the security point of view. Therefore extensive use of modern technology can minimize the fears of attacks. In the first phase, it may please be recommended to aware general public about the use of E-Tag, so that large number of people as well as vehicles can be entered into database for identification. This is good addition in practice as in this project the rules of management and marketing will be applied on the control of traffic in the presence of modern technology. And if government and other security agencies adopt this practice then they can easily control the traffic flow on security check posts, but also reduce the unexpected activities by the exact identification of person as well as vehicle.

Administrative Privileges:

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The whole information of the applicant is stored in the RFID tag which can be verified with the help of RFID reader in order to check that wheather the applicant is registered in the data base of hitec university or not. The entrance is controlled with the help of computer where the whole data is stored. The system is encrypted it means no one else the operater can enter or remove the data of any applicant.
