Project Summary

The gaming industry is developing rapidly. The video game industry revenue is forecast to reach $180.1 billion in 2021. So, the demand of game developers is high. Gaming market revenue is well-positioned due to the massive bump in monthly digital gamers, last year consumers spent a massive $44 billion in gaming software and services. But this growth won’t last too long, as monthly digital gamers are expected to increase by just 1.1% in 2021. One element of gaming that will remain important in 2021 is its ability to provide social interaction in a virtual way. The ability to connect with others during the pandemic elevated the social aspects of gaming across all devices, especially mobile. While interest in connecting with people through video games may recede as the pandemic subsides, Insider Intelligence expects the social element of gaming will continue to attract a larger audience to the ecosystem through 2021 and beyond [2]. And the Pakistan gaming industry is still undeveloped compare to other countries’ gaming industries. So, developing this project is to motivate about gaming industry and provide job opportunities.

Hero in disguise is a tactical first-person shooter video game. In this game, the main character is a secret agent. His job is to retrieve critical information about a stolen nuke. The game comprises a stealth mission, weapons such as m4 and ak-47. It’s an excellent choice for fans interested in the action genre. The game starts with the introduction video of evacuating the agent through helicopter in terrorist territory. The agent name is Obliviour. The game has 2 objectives in which the agent has to retrieve the stolen nuke and then sending the signal through enemy radar base so that our agent can ask for helicopter for his departure. The map has 6 main buildings. 5 of them will be at one side and the 6th building which will be the radar base, a little up ahead. The player has to find the information within the 5 buildings. Each building will have bots that is enemies in it which will make the game challenging and tactical to guess and find the information before the alarm is on. The bots will have accurate aim so that would make the game a little difficult. The objectives can be seen at anytime in game by pressing button ‘O’. The map of the mission can be seen by pressing button ‘M’. Once all the objectives will be completed then the player will be dispatched from helipad through helicopter. The introduction animation video of game and the dispatching from helipad through helicopter will be made in Adobe Premiere Pro. The images for weapons such as pistol and rifles will be made in Adobe Photoshop. The game itself will be built in Unity. The bots with better AI and the player will have multiple movements including jumping.

Project Objectives

1.  Better graphics quality i.e. more detailing to game objects such as buildings, rifles, player, etc.
2. Bots with best AI so that the bots can have more shooting accuracy at the player along with their moment.
3. Improve problem solving skills.
4. Creativity using tactical skills.
5. Obtainable: The player should be provided with enough information and resources to achieve each of the game goals. Maybe not at first but after a sufficient amount of effort. The player should be able to accomplish what the game asks. Otherwise, the player will leave the game in frustration.
6. Concrete: The player should never be in doubt about whether he or she has achieved the goals in a game. The game should provide with immediate objective to the player.
7. Challenging: The player must expend some amount of efforts in achieving the goal. Game is specifically understood ba the player to be a mindless game. If no efforts at all required to achieve the game goal. The player will leave the game out of boredom. This means that goals must increase in difficulty as the player skills increases.

Project Implementation Method

1. The first step is editing video for intro and outro videos for this game.
2. Then making of pictures of rifles in Adobe Photoshop.
3. This whole game will be developed in Unity 3D game engine.
4. First the Main Menu is developed for this game which will include features such as Play Game, Settings Menu and Quit Game.
5. Then Pause Menu is developed which will include the features such as Resume Game and Quit Game.
6. This Game will be developed based upon the 3 Missions along with the map in Unity 3D game engine with all the scripting required for the Enemy Bots' AI.
7. All the scenes will be combined such as the Main Menu will be in scene 1, Intro video will be inj scene 2 and so on.
8. The final product will be a folder consisting all the required files to run the game.
9. It will be extract and play.

In future Inshaallah, our team will work on to improving this game by converting it to Multiplayer with more Missions and detailing to objects. Then we will launch this game on different gaming platforms such as Steam, Blizzard, etc.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

This game will be delivered via USB or Online Drives such as Google Drive, to run this game. As this game will have better graphics i.e. more detailing to objects as compared to older games, so it will require a good GPU and a good Processor.

The minimum requirements to run this game is:

core i3 4th Generation with GTX 760Ti 2GB.

If the player want to experience the best of this game then at least 9th Generation Processor with GTX 1080 will be required for this game.
