Generally, deaf and dumb People use sign language for communication but they find a lot of difficulties in conveying their messages. Normal people also face problems to understand their messages. To overcome their communication barrier, we design a hand gesture based glove through which they can easily convey their messages. In this project, there is a copper plate Glove, Arduino UNO modules, Bluetooth modules, LCD and Text to Speech converter device. Copper plate glove make digital patterns that are directly given to arduino UNO device. It will send different characters corresponding to different patterns to Bluetooth module. On the receiver side, Bluetooth receiver receives character and transmits that character to arduino UNO device. And it shows required message corresponding to different character. The desired message is shown on LCD and that message is converted into speech by text to speech converter device. Overall this project meet the communication barrier between the mute community and normal people

Project Objectives

The main purpose of our project is to make a glove for mute community by which making different gestures they can convey their messages to people.So anyone can easily understand their message. For this purpose we use text to speech converter. Our objective is to do beneficial work for mankind. Our objective is to make a device and people all over world can get advantage of this.

Project Implementation Method

We designed a digital glove by copper plate which make digital pattern.These patterns given to arduino module and it transmit character through bluetooth device.On the other side bluetooth device receive that character and send it to arduino module and arduino send message to LCD and emic-2 device for conversion of message to speech.This is our implementation strategy.

Benefits of the Project

In this project, we aim to overcome the communication barrier between mute communities and normal Peo-ple.They find difficulty in communication with other people.This thing motivate us to use technology to overcome this problem.The hand gesture recognition is a way to understand the messages of mute community.This concept is used in our project.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

First of all we made our project circuit on Proteus to check results.Secondly, we made circuit on breadboard to check output by using push buttons instead of copper strips.Finally,we implemented our circuit on glove by using Arduino-UNO and Bluetooth modules to transmit and receive data and check our output on LCD and Emic-2 device to hear our message.

Unit Testing

We made circuit on Proteus to check result of our project.For this purpose we used Proteus 8 software.We made transmitter and receiver circuits.firstly,we send data to check or our transmitter while it is sending data correctly.Then,we tested receiver side while it is receiving data.Finally,we check our output at LCD and on Emic-2 module.

Function Testing

Now we made circuit on breadboard to check our simulation.We used same circuit as in Proteus but instead of switches we used push buttons to change our logic levels.As we know that when push button is on it indicates logic level ’0’.And when push button is off it indicates logic level ’1’.

Testing Requirements <A, B, C>

For the testing purpose We need a glove ,copper strips,Arduino-UNO,Bluetooth module,Emic-2 device.By using these devices we testing the different output messages on the LCD and Emic-2 device and check whatever we are sending is it correctly receiving or not
