GSM Based Smart Cardio System for Healthcare
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryAs the line between physical and digital world is blurring very fast, remote monitoring system is evolving day by day. It has done a lot in the field of healthcare. We are presenting a smart healthcare system in which will be based on GSM and GPS. As, Statistics show heart diseases are increasing rapidly. Our project will serve as its counter major the objective of this project is to provide an effective system model, that will track, locate and monitor patient vital readings in order to provide efficient medical services in time. Thus in case an SMS or data will be sent to the concerned doctors with readings and location. Our project bases on heartbeat rate. In future we will add other sensors for the reading of more vitals.
Project ObjectivesThe use of sensors detects the conditions of the patient and the data is collected and transferred using a microcontroller. Doctors and nurses need to visit the patient frequently to examine his/her current condition. In addition to this, use of multiple microcontroller based intelligent system provides high-level applicability in hospitals here many patients must be frequently monitored. For this, here we use the idea of network technology with wireless applicability, providing each patient a unique ID by which the doctor can easily identify the patient and his/her status of health parameters.
Using the proposed system, data can be sent wirelessly to the Patient Monitoring System, allowing continuous monitoring of the patient.
Project Implementation MethodThe project split into five parts:
Project 1: In this project, we will teach you how to measure your heart rate using a dedicated Arduino-compatible sensor.
Project 2: In this project, we teach you how to make the connection of I2C type 16x2 LCD and display the message on the screen when the user types on the serial monitor.
Project 3: This project will explain to you how to make a call using SIM900A GSM module which it connects the Mic and Speaker on GSM. Here, in this project will explain the program using Serial and SoftwareSerial communication methods.
Project 4: In this project, you will get the accurate location of the user using Arduino GPS_Get Latitude and Longitude Coordinates with SoftwareSerial communication program.
Project 5: In this project, we will teach you how to measure your heart rate using a dedicated Arduino-compatible sensor. Then, we will transmit the data via SIM900A module to send a message and call to the respective person to get the details. Even we will send the GPS location using GPS module, and also display the heartbeat on the 16x2 LCD screen.
This project can be used to develop Wearable for wrist pulse band. This project helps in real time to track the people who are not well and cure them of heart stroke.
Benefits of the ProjectSmart Cardio System will provide runtime reading for Heartrate, BP and temperature to patient and doctors it provides reliable readings which will save time and money.
By this project we can access the readings in home or anywhere without going to the hospitals. It is basically based on elderly. Like they are lying the bed or strolling in the park and get cardiac arrest.
It will very easy to find and treat them in time because the sensor would detect irregularity in heartbeat and send the SMS with readings and location.
Above all, we hope to provide a comfortable user experience along with the ease of patients.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe mobile application will be developed using open sours react native mobile application framework for mobile, front end using JavaScript and backend for both IoT and mobile. Mobile application will be developed on ASP.net MVC restful API and SignalR. We will also developed business website for marketing so we use Microsoft Windows Operating System for developing this application.
