Project Summary

Now a days the major problem we are facing is increasing population which lead to many other problems for example shortage of electricity. In practice the shortage of electricity is eliminated by installing thermal power plants. These power plants are not environment friendly and requires a huge capital. On the contrary if we talk about renewable energy there are two sources one is solar and the other one is wind. Both the sources requires special environmental conditions. So the kinetic energy is the only option by which can generate electricity. Kinetic energy is the energy of motion and can therefore be found in every object that moves. So in this project we use kinetic energy of cat eyes to produce electricity. It is not only environment friendly and renewable but also economical that means it can be installed within a small budget.

This project because it provides a continuous source of electricity without depending upon any circumstances. is very essential for the national and economical development of Pakistan

Project Implementation Method

We are expecting approximately 150 watt from each cat eye as the number of cat eyes increases the output power will increase.

Benefits of the Project

• It can be installed at the parking lots of hospitals, shopping malls, hotels and offices etc.       

• It can be installed at toll plaza and traffic signals.

• It save kinetic energy in a useful manner.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

In this project we are using a unique designed cat eyes which is not only work as a reflector but also eliminates the wrong way drive and produce electricity. As a car passes it presses the cat eyes as a result a linear motion is produced on the rugged which is connected to the cat eye and coupled with the gear train. This gear train is mounted over a free wheel so that it can produce rotational motion in one direction. It is further connected with the fly wheel so that it can rotate freely and then connected to the gear box so that it can increase number of R.P.M and then another fly wheel is connected with the output of gear box to produce a free rotation and then it is further connected with the Generator with the help of pulley. The output of generator is rectified into D.C with the help of power rectifiers and stored into the battery. We use separate indicators and  meters to indicate the performance of each circuit. This system consist of two circuits. One for upward travel and other one for downward travel. Both the circuits produce electricity..

If we increase no. of systems under the cat eye ramp we will definitely increase the power.
