The main aim of this FYP is to create a system that can prevent thousands of lives from any mishap. The equipment that will be used in this regard is “Gas Leakage Detector (GLD)” that will help save lives of thousands of people at workplaces and residential areas. A gas detector is a device that detects the presence of gases in an area, often as a safety system. This type of equipment is used to detect as a gas leak or other emissions and can interface with control system so a process can be automatically shut down. A gas detector device can sound as an alarm to operators in the area where the leak is occurring, giving them the notification and an opportunity to leave. This type of device is important in many ways because there are number of gasses that can harm organic life such as humans and animals.
These are the three main objectives that are considered while creating this FYP:
To detect the LPG, MQ-02 gas sensor is employed. This sensor can be operated at +5V. The sensitivity of this sensor is very high and it has quick response time.it can detect the LPG concentration in the range of 200-10000ppm.If the sensed voltage is greater than the preset threshold voltage, the operational amplifier output fires the driver circuit for LED and Buzzer. As a result, the LED will glow and the buzzer starts to produce alarm sound.
To make our environment clean and away from all kind of dangerous gases we must take some steps like we would like to create a project which leads to detection of gases.So we design gas leakage detector to reduce the problem up to some extent.Gas leakage detection will not only provide us the significance in health department but also it will lead to raise our economy because when gas gets leaked it not only contaminates the atmosphere but also wastage of gases will down our economy.
As illustrated in the above diagram, a system should be organized in this particular way. The chambers will help to detect the gas leakage around the industrial area. With the help of alarm system, the signals will be transmitted to the capable numbers. And precautionary measures will be taken.
For this entire procedure we need to develop a sensitive IOT based quick detection system. It is a solution to the faced problem.
And the notification system on smart phones will help to alert the situation.
