Project Summary
This Project is for testing the Fuel injectors, Ignition Coils and the spark plugs which are the most common reasons of the knocking of the cars. The fuel injectors will test the fuel levels emitted by each injector in the chamber. The ignition coil tester will test the resistance and current of the ignition coil. Spark plug tester will test the resistance of the spark plug.
Project Objectives
This project is aimed to develop a device that will address the needs of testing coil on plug(ignition coils) , spark plugs and fuel injectors. The literacy rate of local mechanics of Pakistan is very low. They are unable to use the diagnostic tools like Automotive scope, WYZE and Paddle probes,Picoscope, SNAPON etc because no one can operate these tools without proper training. So this device will meet the needs of local mechanics and also create mass know how about automotive technology at national level.
Project Implementation Method
The project is implemented using PIC16F877 along with ACS712 for current measurment, 555 timer IC in astable mode for driving the fuel injectors and the resistance divider method for measuring resistance on pins enabled with ADC
