The proposed fog monitoring system enables drivers to estimate visibility distance in the presence of fog. The designed system can decrease the accident ratio, mortality and guarantees the passenger life safety including driver. The designed approach can be adopted by different vehicle manufacturers within a country and across the world, to upgrade the vehicles safety and to cope with increasing demands of customers’ life safety. The system can aid intelligence to the vehicles and improves visibility distance perception of the drivers, who often face accidents due to overestimating the visibility distance, by sending them real time notification about obstacles or vehicles going ahead of them. The system is based on proactive approach rather than reactive approach after life losses and vehicle damage, the solution is over all highly admired and accepted in Pakistan vehicle manufacture Industry, for proper commercialized setup this can boost Pakistan’s local & export potential economy, create jobs in vehicle and automobile manufacturing industry.

Embedding the Fog Detection and Visibility Distance Estimation System (FDVES) with the Different types of vehicle within/Outside the country.

  1. Real- Time alert in case of accident chances during driving
  1. Driving Environment– Luminance variation, Distance to Vehicle ahead, Road traffic, percentage of Foggy weather, Vehicle Speed
  1. Estimation – Visibility Distance

 Equipment Efficiency % of accuracy in fog detection, visibility distance estimation, Accident avoidance and Low Power Consumption.

The solution's objectives are as under:

1. Reducing Mortality rate by avoiding vehicle accidents due to low visibility distance and   overestimation of drivers about visibility, which led them over-speed of vehicle.

  1. 99% visibility of drivers’ perception about visibility distance in foggy weather across the country or Continents.
  1. LCD for displaying the level of fog, estimation of visibility distance and predicting

                the accident chances by Neural Network based on vehicle speed and Visibility

                distance in hazy and snowy environment.

  1. Main feature of designed Product to help local vehicle manufacturers to upgrade vehicle for commercialization fulfilling international standards. Local manufacturers will be self-sufficient and can compete with foreign vehicle manufacturers.
  1. Monitoring vehicle and drivers’ safety from anytime, anywhere using IoT device.
  1. Real-time Notifications to drivers take immediate actions. This feature assist them to regulate the vehicle speed according to environmental conditions.

Smart Fog detection technique detects fog in environment especially in metropolitan cities, for example, Lahore, where bricks factories releases harmful gases which pollutes and causes fog in environment.  Moreover, coal-based power generation companies and burning of solid waste near to cities contribute significantly in causing the foggy environment.
