Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject SummaryAccording to market survey and current market and safety condition of Pakistan this firefighting robot can be a helpful asset in firefighting industry. As it is portfolio of firefighting robot so we have a demo ready for it which has an ability to store one liter or one and a half liter water in it.
When the implementation will be done there is a need of one bottle which can contain water in it and a charger to charge the batteries and that’s all.
If some experts help us a little bit in implementation this robot can be a useful asset which can be helpful in firefighting problems. Once this project is completed and we get a chance to gain some positivity from government we can also offer our helpful research to government and help them to made a real firefighting robot which have all the capabilities as this proposal have and if this project be implemented in coming future years it will be a known as life saver because it will work instead of human lives and will save many important human lives.
Project ObjectivesThe purpose of this project is to develop and design a Fire Fighting Robot guided by these following objectives:”
- “To determine the use of multiple sensors for various sensing on the robot.”
- “To develop a program to implement all the movement and behavior of the robot by using the ARDUINO as the main control system design.”
- It is used for any kind of fire Alarming situations and also detect fire in some cases we see that we can’t find the most effective area.
- We try to make most friendly user robot to easily work on any situations we are working more on it do us batter implementations.
- “To design a robot that is able to avoid obstacles, detect fire next extinguish fire, and also control manually by using Android Application and mobile phone as a transmitter.”
“The potential of Fire Fighting Robot acts during extinguish flame, including:
1) Detect of fire 2) Wall avoidance 3) Extinguish fire
Robot detect the existence of fire over the sensor within a range of 15cm to 90cm in designated areas. Sensitivity of sensing the fire is determined by calculating the distance from the robot to fire then the distance will be included in the Arduino program.”
“If barriers occur during the process of detecting fire so you can turn it to manually and watch the situation of the room and building and go through the situation.”
“The next step is it will act to go to that place fire that have been detected by the sensor after move randomly and extinguish the fire with water. Focus on robot movement is based on flat surface work area.”
“All robot behavior is controlled by the Programmable Interface Controllers as the main control system. Transmitter will control and give commands to the robot to sense the fire and obstacles. Assembly language is used as the language interface to be programmed in the Arduino.”
Benefits of the ProjectRobot will monitor the work area by performing random movements it as an alternative medium used by humans especially the fireman to fight with fire and this robot can also be used by general people who don’t have a vast knowledge of how to operate a robot. It is habitual in Pakistan that fire fighters never come on time due to traffic and face difficulty to get to know the exact effected location, as we are living in under developing country where fire cannon didn’t get to that exact location/place because there are small houses in Pakistan and always face difficulty to extinguish fire so this robot will go to the small to small place and get control on fire without putting any human life in danger. (i.e: fire fighter) for example in basement of shopping mall or building, the circuit rooms are too small where the fire keep bursting due to short circuit and no one dare go to that place because nobody can put there life in danger if we implement this robot so any one can operate this robot and fight with fire whenever the fire fighter is on his way this robot is user friendly one can operate it like a remote control toy, you don’t need any kind of training to operate this robot, it can also workable on small ships and can extinguish fire like mini ship can get water through sea and extinguish fire.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThis project is referring to the design of robot that able to move and extinguish fire automatically or manually. Implementation of this robot is tested with low fire temperature to evaluate the sensitivity of detecting after that expunges the fire by using water mechanism. Work area with barriers can be avoided by this robot in pursuing its ability to extinguish fire. The movement and behavior of this robot is fully controlled by the programmable ARDUINO. All forms of signal received by the ARDUINO will be processed and executed to accomplish the mission of the robot. Robot will monitor the work area by performing random movements it as an alternative medium used by humans especially the fireman to fight with fire and this robot can also be used by general people who don’t have a vast knowledge of how to operate a robot.
