This project focuses on home security and office digital attendance using advanced artificial Intelligence facial recognition technique. Nowadays, there is growing interest in designing of smart home systems using modern technologies such as AI, big data, IoT. We design a novel, cost-effective and intelligent door lock system that automatically opens for authenticated persons. The lock system uses YOLO (You-Only-Look-Once) Convolution Neural Network, camera and Raspberry pi 4 which communicate with mechanical components of lock. YOLO authenticates users by comparing their faces with the images stored in database. The door is unlocked by raspberry pi if facial features of captured image match to the features of one of the stored image in database. 
Our envisioned project can be used for various applications such as home or office security and office digital attendance which is expected to outperform the traditional biometric attendance systems (fingerprint and iris recognition) because the proposed facial recognition system uses robust facial features which fed into YOLO 4, which is the fastest and most accurate facial recognition model.

The proposed facial recognition door lock system can prevent theft or any terrorist attack by not allowing unauthenticated people in highly secure areas such as home, office, factory.

Project Objectives

The objective of our project is to recognize a human face through technology. It compares the information with the database of known faces to find the match. Facial recognition can help verify personal identity. The facial recognition market is expected to grow to $ 7.7 billion in 2022 from $ 4 billion in 2017. That’s because facial recognition has kinds of commercial applications. It can be used for everything surveillance to marketing, more usable in security purposes door locking, attendance system, face lock for mobile devices also for snap chat, geo tagging, law enforcement agencies. There are many identification system but face recognition is nowadays more preferred. 
It also more preferred in 
(a) Research into video processing.
(b) learn more about video streams.
(c)get familiar with raspberry pi. 
(d)Interfacing raspberry pi with hardware. 
This technology is used worldwide in Blu-Ray Disk as well as website like youtube, vimeo and itunes store, motivated further to take up this project. Facial recognition is used when issuing identity documents and most often, combined with other biometric technologies such as fingerprints (preventing ID fraud and identity theft). 
According to Research report “facial recognition market” by component, the facial recognition industry is expected to grow $ 3.2 billion in 2019 to $ 7.0 billion by 2024. The most significant uses for the technology being surveillance and marketing, this however raises concerns for many people.

The project implementation will be based on following flow: 
(a) Product development of devices to meet international standards for commercialization. 
(b) Research and Development required for some advanced features like facial recognition, security surveillance. 
(c) Global sales setups to target sales in specific countries in security issues environment. 
(d) Proper setup for marketing, this solution for national and international automobile companies. 
(e) Setup for (IoT) upgradation and its safety. 
(f) Cloud and programming Raspberry pi team.

Benefits of the Project

Our project will contribute into the attainment of the 16th goal of SDGs. 
It helps to increase safety, peace, security, preventing crimes to build peace and reducing human interaction. It can even help support medical efforts. Law enforcement agencies use facial recognition to find wanted and missing people. Many concerns around facial recognition technology such as invasion of privacy, abuse of power what rogue elements within government agencies could do with it and more. Some of the benefits of facial recognition technology are better security, improved retail shopping, banking and more. Some are defined below: 
(a) Improved Public Security: 
According to an NBC report, the technology is proliferating among law enforcement agencies in the Pakistan and its cities like Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and many more where security risks rise. 
According to (CBP) is vowing to check 97% of international passengers by 2023 with facial recognition. 
(b) Fast & Non Invasive Identity Verification: 
Our project will help face recognition technology is its fast processing nature and that is does not need any contact with users. With current identity verification methods, users must remember passwords, present ID cards but with face recognition technology companies can control access to facilities without these long lines. 
(c) Benefits of Facial Recognition In Banking: 
Despite many security measures taken by financial institutions worldwide, banking fraud, is still a recurring problem. Face recognition online banking system could help solve it. 
(d) Benefits of Facial Recognition In Retail: 
While an ever-increasing number of customers are shopping online, there is still as an important part that goes to physical stores. A benefit of facial recognition in Retail is that it could make shopping experience faster and more convenient, it also help in loss preventation and increase customers loyalty. 
(e) Face Recognition Furthers Enables Computer Vision: 
Face recognition research may one day allow computers to see and recognize objects and people in similar manners to human as result, there will be new possibilities interactions.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

This system uses Raspberry pi 4, camera, and electromechanical lock. The frontal face image captured by camera is processed by YOLO4 model to authenticate uers. The YOLO model authenticates those people if their faces are known to the model and can notify the concerned authority if any unauthenticated people try to enter the particular area. The raspberry pi unlocks the door for authenticated people and prevents intruders to maintain security of particular home or building.
