Face recognition is an active area of biometric identification. Face recognition provides the capability for the computer to recognize a human by facial characteristics. Today, biometrics is one of the fastest growing fields in advanced technology. Predictions indicate that biometric system is commonly used to authenticate identities and to avoid unauthorized access to networks, database and organization etc.

By using the traditional finger prints system or manual attendance and manual recognition by a security guard in every organization is a more inconvenient, time consuming and insecure in a modern digital world. In today era, some automated face recognition systems are available. However, those systems are still required further improvement to tackle down the issue of facial expression and sibling faces. Therefore, an automated solution is required to use state of the art Artificial Intelligence techniques to identify and recognize the faces of person in organization to automate the attendance and security system. The proposed system will analyze the characteristics of a person face image that will take/capture through digital camera and the machine will take the decision on the basis of these input images. Our proposed system will greatly assist to improve and automate the personal and commercial security with a high accuracy rate and it will also use to automate the employee/student attendance system in a more convenient and secure way.

Project Objectives

The purpose of this project is to automate the attendance system of an organization. This problem not only exists in The University of Lakki Marwat but it exist almost in every organization that each and every employee of organization use manual attendance system or fingerprints system.

This project will automate the attendance system of employee and will calculate the salary of each and every employee at the end of the month. If someone comes late to the organization the system will automatically tell them that you are xxx minute late and the salary will also calculate on the basis of their presence in organization.

Project Implementation Method

The requirement and literature survey of our project is completed and now we are in the image acquisition phase (Data set).

 We have divided our whole project into five different modules

i.e,

•Face Detection

•Face Datasets

•Face Recognizer

•Salary of Employee

•Employee counting the implementation part is almost 30% completed

The remaining part will be completed in the next 5 months.

Benefits of the Project

The benefits of this project are to automate the attendance system to avoid the waste of time. Now a day almost in every organization the employee mark their attendance either manually or by using fingerprints system. The fingerprints system is although the most reliable fingerprints system but it waste a lot of time to marks your attendance, that is why we have started this project to avoid the waste of time and automate the attendance system by using face recognition.

The salary calculation of employees is now a day a major in almost every organization. This project will calculate the salary of every employee at the end to each and every month on the basis of the presence of an employee in an organization. Security is also one of the major issues of every organization. By implementing this project we are trying to improve the security of the organization but counting the number of people enter the organization.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

This system will defiantly outclass all the existing finger print attendance system and especially the manual system in this digital era. The final system will consist of a camera on the main gate of the university which connects with server system or any system in the security room.
