Dynamic Reactive Power Compensator
Dynamic Reactive Power Compensator (DRPC) is a reactive power compensator for dynamic and highly fluctuating loads. DRPC technology works on the principle of Voltage Source Converters (VSC) using high power and low loss capacitors. DRPC can be used for applications requiring instantaneous and stepless dynamic compensation for dynamic and unbalanced loads with adequate response time.
Power quality is a major concern for transmission and distribution utilities, industries, and transport and infrastructure sectors. Poor power quality affects grid reliability, productivity, leads to higher operating costs and penalties for non-compliance with grid codes. A static or balanced reactive power compensator will improve the Power Quality or Power Factor of only one phase or balanced load. For example, in an automobile industry the welders operate in an asymmetrical manner across phases. All this leads to highly fluctuating reactive power and an unbalanced load current. This Dynamic Reactive Power Controller will provide reactive power support for unbalanced dynamic loads.
If a Power factor decreases from its required value DRPC will detect it instantly and will compensate it by providing it reactive power.
As current increases as a result of decreasing power factor, DRPC will provide leading current. This will reduce power losses and prevent our electrical equipment from damage due to high current.
DRPC can compensate for highly fluctuating reactive power and unbalanced loads in a rapid and transient-free manner.

Our main goal is to make the power system more stable, self-healing and improve the power quality with the use of DRPC. We are willing to introduce more elements and devices that will enhance the efficiency of the Power System with the aid of automation.

3-phase power supply, Measuring Instruments such as Current transformer, Voltage transformer, Voltage sensor ZMPT1018, Zero Crossing Detector, Active band pass filter, Arduino Mega, at least 10 Capacitor banks, Op-amp ICs, LEDs that will display previous prower factor, current power factor, current, capacitor banks used.
