Different systems are developed to control these issues. Many systems are placed in highways and motorways to keep check on all the traffic on the road through detecting their number plates. Since there's a lot of work done in the previous 5 to 10 years which uses a different type of techniques because of speedy increase in an automated transportation system. These existing systems are not capable of recognizing number plates in some regions where environmental factors like illumination, dust, fog, and non-standardized format exist just like in Pakistan. So by keeping in view all of these circumstances we took this step to create a system that will help to detect number plates in different conditions. FAR and DISTORTED number plate’s detection is our main focus but here other conditions are also discussed specific number plates. Like under high light, different weather conditions and speedy blur images and non-standard number plates.
Project ObjectivesA system is proposed based on image processing techniques for recognition of vehicle number plate. The main target of our proposed system is to make detectable FAR and DISTORTED digits and alphabets written on vehicles number plates.

Project Implementation MethodThe implementation of this project is divided into two main categories one is the designing and testing and the second is the assembling of the hardware and integrate SW & HW.
The first step is designing of the software that gave use more accurate results.
The second step in the implementation of this software on local dataset and integrate SW & HW to create a complete system and model.
Benefits of the ProjectThe main concern of proposed system Image Acquisition Image pre-processing Character Segmentation Localization Character Recognition is to raise the recognition rate of car number plates. The system with powerful image processing techniques can easily detect vehicles of interest from different angles and display information in correct form written on car number plate. This is a much more accurate way of monitoring traffic than a manual approach. Previously proposed ANRP system have not focused on FAR and Distorted car number plates. So, there is a wide scope to develop such a system.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableTaking other technologies and working approaches into consideration we choose the best approach for capturing the image cropping region of interest (ROI) passing it through OCR for character recognition and getting data in electronic form makes us into starting point of our project. Some of the modules may be coded in python so we are also getting into python.
