Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryThis project is mostly implemented in foreign countries, mainly in the industrial areas with a uniform code and our idea is derived from that. In Pakistan, there are schools and even universities that have a dress code so this project will become an automated system that checks that dress code and whether or not to open the gate.
Project ObjectivesSince the recent COVID-19 Pandemic, everything is preferred automated with less human contact. With this uniform detecting system, no human employee will be required at the entrance of the student gate and the student uniform will be checked automatically. This problem is very significant during these times but even after the pandemic is over, this project would still be useful for the organizations that require less staff, prefer automated systems in their organizations, and such.
Project Implementation MethodThe algorithm that will be used for object detection is Single Shot Detected (SSD) OR YOLO because it’s one of the widely used algorithms for detecting objects easily which makes it easier to integrate into the systemsand for color recognition, we will use the color histogram and deploy the model in KNN Algorithm or we will extract the RGB color where the object is detected.
Benefits of the ProjectThe organizations who’d benefit most from this project would be universities in some cases, schools, and all establishments with dress codes. Since this project will detect and classify a specific dress code (White Shirt & Black Pant), all the institutions with that specific code of dress can benefit from it.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThis project will reduce the staff work by automatically detecting the uniform and deciding whether to unlock the door for the students or not. This will also allow the students that enter the university without the uniform by using unfair means and bonds with the staff, hence it will prevent the biasness and favoritism. Also, due to the recent Covid-19 pandemic, less human contact is preferred so it will also be helpful in that matter but even after the disease is gone, this system will never go obsolete.
