Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThe aim of this project is to design a monitoring and protection system for distribution
transformer with the help of IOT technology. The present monitoring system requires
manpower which is time-consuming and it is difficult to predict the occurrence of faults. in
this project, we will designed a system which continuously monitors the transformer
parameters such as load current, voltage, oil level and ambient temperature with the help of
sensors. These values are displayed continuously on the LCD display and it is recorded in the
system memory and shown control room display using IOT . If any abnormalities occur in the transformer then an alert message with the
parameter values are sent to the monitoring center along with the location by means of Sim 900 GSM GPRS shield which are integrated with the Arduino board. This system will help the transformer to operate
smoothly and identify problems before any disastrous failure.
- To test the key parameter of transformer like over voltage, output current, increase in winding temperature, rise or fall in oil level.
- Automatically monitors the transformer no manual work is needed.
- Increase safety of transformer
- It requires less power and space and it is portable
- The proposed system is cost effective and reliable.
First we supply power to transformer
Then we interlink sensors and microcontroller with transformer to measure the
parameters value.
Obtain values through sensors and compare predetermine values and
performed operation.
The microcontroller send signal to interlink device sim900 (gsm/gprs shield) wireless through
information in monitor room computer based IOT technology
On Other LCD are present and connected to microcontroller to display real
time oil, voltage , current parameters values.
- If any fault occur or all fault occur at a time .This system can be noticed easily all fault on scrolling LCD display.
- Therefore trouble-shooting is easy.
- Even if there is nobody for monitoring the system the person can get the status on computer screen in monitor room.
- Saves money i.e. travelling allowances etc.
- Reduces man power.
- Easily implementable
- Transformer health issue in remote areas.
This is wireless communication and for this, we can use the existing IOT technology.
We can easily communicate with more than one person if necessary.
This project will reduce the failure level .We will designed a system which continuously monitors the transformer parameters such as load current, voltage, oil level and ambient temperature with the help of sensors. These values are displayed continuously on the LCD display and it is recorded in the system memory.
Its easy to install and require one time investment.
Its reduce the discountinity of power supply.
