Development of an IoT Security Swiss Army Knife
The purpose of this project is to scan the hostile environment via drone installed with different protocol sniffers such as Wifi/Bluetooth. Using the information fetched by these sniffers; Hacking, Jamming, Spoofing, Packet snifing, Traffic shaping etc will be done. Thus, a strong understanding of IoT module and different hacking techniques is mandatory for accomplishment of this project.
The following tasks will be performed in this project:
(1) Spy on other network users and collect sensitive information such as login details or users cookies (depending on any content encryption methods that may be in use).
(2) Jamming/Hacking the network.
(3) Monitoring and detracking the data-in-motion.
(4) Protocol Spoofing.
This project is a multi task project. Three modules will be installed on the drone that will fly over the hostile environment. The drone will give us the visual picture of the hostile environment showing all the users of Wifi and Bluetooth.
(a) Module 1: Kortex Xtend Lite will be installed on the drone with the required algorithm. This module will hack the selected target and will provide a false map for port mapping. Furthermore this module will do packet sniffing and traffic shapping of the data being communicated or transferred between different users.
(b) Module 2: Ubertooth One is being used in this module. The drone installed with Ubertooth One will scan the hostile environment and will do the jamming and spoofing of the targeted protocol of any Bluetooth user.
(c) Module 3: This is the communication module for controlling the drone from ground station. The drone will perform according to the commands given by the ground station through this module.
The Opertating System that will be used in this project is Kali Linux.
Mounting the protocol sniffers on an aerial platform and then scanning the hostile environment is advantageous over ground based sniffers. Ground based sniffers have limited line of sight and less area coverage while an aerial sniffer does not have the problem of line of sight and it offers extended area coverage of the hostile environment. Moreover, the aerial platforms can be deployed even in those areas where the ground based sniffers cannot be deployed due to security reasons, hence more targets are reachable to aerial sniffers. Aerial platforms have stealth nature of operations, due to which they are less vulnerable to enemy as compared to ground based sniffers.
The expected deliverables of this project are listed below:
(a) Scanning the hostile environment via drone (installed with sniffers) and collecting information of Wifi/Bluetooth users
(b) Wifi/Bluetooth Jamming
(c) Wifi/Bluetooth Spoofing
(d)Traffic shaping,Port mapping and Packet Sniffing of the targeted user cloud
