Project Title

Design of GPS AntiJamming Antenna System

Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject Summary

We are working on GPS anti-jamming system. In this project we will be learning and implementing the different anti-jamming techniques. we will be using microstrip patch antenna and 180 degree hybrid rat race ring coupler and integrate them to anti-jam a GPS signal of L1 band.

Project Objectives

The main idea of this project is to design and develop a Anti jamming system as well as a system which will be compact in size and more efficient the system we are going to develop in this project is through Micro-strip patch antenna array and RF coupler, in this project the other main aim is to design an anti-jam system that will anti-jam signal in RF domain which will need less power to operate unlike other anti jamming systems.

Project Implementation Method

we design a GPS-anti jamming using antenna array. Due to low profile and easy to fabricate, microstrip patch antennas
array combined with hybrid rat race (HRR) couplers provide a simplified method to mitigate the jamming signal
from the original GPS signal. Two microstrip patch antennas
array and two 180 degree HRR couplers are integrated to perform the GPS anti-jamming in the L1 band
(1.575 GHz). where first patch antenna receives a jamming plus GPS signal which is sent towards first coupler’s input port (port 3). While, on port 4, we provide a GPS reference signal to achieve the jamming only signal on difference port (diff port). Furthermore, the second patch antenna’s signal
(jamming plus GPS) is input to the port 3 of second coupler which is also input on port 4 with jamming signal
coming from the first coupler’s diff port. Thus, we achieve the original GPS signal at diff port of coupler 2 easily
by utilizing simple arithmetic i.e., add and subtract, type coupler.

Benefits of the Project Technical Details of Final Deliverable

By the end of this project we will be able to anti-jam a GPS signal of L1 band at 1.575 GHz frequency. This anti-jamming design can also be used for the traning kit in  our university.

Main milestone is to anti jam a GPS Using microstrip Patch antenna array.
