Design, Fabrication and Testing of Water Trash Collector System
Project Area of Specialization Mechanical EngineeringProject SummaryAs we now day by day worlds’s population is increasing rapidly due to which use of plastic is also increasing ,due to improper disposal of plastics, people throw plastics and related materials directly into seas and oceans which affect human and marine life.Similarily due to leakage in oil tanker and ships in seas, the oil is spilled. This oil creates a layer on surface of sea which blocks supply of oxygen to marine life.In order to overcome this problem and have cleaner oceans and to protect marine life we designed a seabin using different softwares and parameters, performed structural and CFD analysis on ANSYS by varying different parameters and then fabrication takes place and at the end will test the seabin.
Project Objectives- To design a cost-effective water trash collector for removal of plastic waste from oceans.
- To improve quality of water for marine life.
Firstly we will do literature review to study already done work on water trash collector system in order to make our project much improved from previous one and then we will design our water trash colletor system and perform CFD and structural analysis on it in order to select material and design efficiently then we will fabricate our outer body and inner body and make support for it and then assemble all the parts together and finally we will test our project .
Benefits of the Project- It will help us save marine life and indirectly human life can also be saved.
Water Trash Collector system with dimensions of 3 feet height and pump attached of flowrate 7300 l/h and 400 W in working condition
