In this project, the Pelton wheel is used for the generation of electricity. A prototype of the Pelton wheel is designed which will help to generate the direct current (DC) voltage. The generated (DC) voltage will be stored in a battery and then that voltage is utilized in the hour of need. In our houses, all the electric devices are operated on the alternating current (AC) voltage. The stored or the generated energy needs to be converted into the (AC) voltage. The process of the conversion from the (DC) to (AC) is done by the device termed as an inverter. The traditional inverters which are available in the market have low power rating moreover they do not have the better efficiency as well. The neutral point clamped inverter is used to do the required task of the conversion of voltage from (DC) to (AC). Neutral point clamped inverters have better power rating and better stress handling than traditional inverters due to the greater number of switching gadgets used.  The switching of the three-phase three-level neutral point clamped inverter is controlled by one of the best switching techniques which is termed model predictive control (MPC). The terms like total harmonic distortion and steady-state error are removed with the help of the model predictive control (MPC).

Project Objectives

•    Development of a Pelton wheel to produce electricity.
•    A prototype of the gravitational water vortex power plant will be developed that will be able to produce the (DC) voltage.
•    Development of simulation of three-phase three-level model of model predictive control based neutral point clamped inverter.
•    Development of a model predictive control based three-phase three-level neutral point clamped inverter.

Project Implementation Method

•    The stored voltage will be utilized in the hour of need only we have to do is to convert it into alternating current (AC) voltage.
•    The neutral point clamped inverters have better power ratings than that of the conventional three-phase inverters.
•    The output of our system will be stable and steady-state error will be removed.
