Project Area of Specialization Mechanical EngineeringProject SummaryIn this project we are making an HHO generation kit using graphite as it's electrode which is highly efficient for electrolysis, we are also extracting separate hydrogen and oxygen gases from electrolyses. This HHO generator will be more efficient in production of hydrogen gas and it will also provide a pure hydrogen gas.
By definition "A Hydrogen generator or HHO kit is a machine that is used to produce hydrogen from water, using a process called electrolysis".
Project Objectives1) To extract hydrogen from water by means of electrolysis
2) To use graphite as electrode because it is good conductor of electricity
3) To enhance the efficiency of hydrogen gas production rate
4) To extract separate hydrogen and oxygen by using separators.
Project Implementation Method1) Material Selection:
We will buy electrolytic material plates made of graphite.
2) Design, Fabrication and Modification:
We will design the HHO generator with suitable diamensions. We will use graphite as electrode in HHO cell because graphite will improve the efficiency of production rate of hydrogen gas. We will separate hydrogen and oxygen by using separators.
3) Total Assembly of HHO kit:
After Fabrication and modification, all components of HHO generator will be assembled.
4) Final Testing:
The Assembled kit now finally will be tested out. We will test efficiency of rate of hydrogen gas.
Benefits of the ProjectThe Sustainability of fuels and power generation with cleaner production of exhaust gases is considered one of the most important goals that the world seeks.
1) The electrolysis process of water produces oxy-hydrogen gas (HHO) that can be used as an energy source to solve the shortage problem of fossil fuel and reduces the environmental problem.
2) We are separating hydrogen from water and oxygen which is pure hydrogen.
3) Hydrogen gas is free of carbon dioxide (CO2) so, there will be no carbon emission (greenhouse effect). we can say that hydrogen is green gas (clean enrgy).
4) Our project is satisfying the need of clean energy (SDG 7).
