Project ObjectivesOur goal is to develop a robot arm designed to handle substances or objects that require extreme care. This mechanism works on the same principles a acoustic tweezers. While these are small scale devices and operate in fluid medium but these acoustic levitation devices are most concerned with overcoming gravity
Project Implementation Method1.The idea that something so intangible can lift objects can seem unbelievable, but it's a real phenomenon.
2. Acoustic levitation takes advantage of the properties of sound to cause solids, liquids and heavy gases to float.
3. Between Two metals plates, high frequency is fired
4. Transducer(which fires the waves) and a Reflector which bounces them back at the opposite direction.
5. These generate Standing waves which give the object caught between them an illusion of stillness and can suspend any object in thin air.
