Its support depends on the condition of patient, because if a patient is a little conscious then oxygen bag is taken in operation. If a patient is in moderately conscious level then ventilator external support takes in action. Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) face mask insert on patient face give him external support of oxygen. But if a patient is in serious condition, patient’s lungs are unable to perform inhale/exhale operation then endotracheal tube is inserted near to lungs, contraction and expansion perform artificially. Electro-mechanical ventilator is a suction machine in which oxygen is sucked by the air bag through a valve from atmosphere, if a patient is in a serious condition, and then compressed oxygen is replaced by atmospheric oxygen. The piston works on a periodic motion that presses the air suction bag. Piston gets power from a DC supply. Oxygen flow is controlled by oxygen regulatory sensor according to the normal concentration in a human body which is measured with oxygen nob fingertip pulse oxy-meter. The purpose of this project is to beat the global pandemic and to support the human health to take better breath that is assigned by the God in their whole lives.
Project Objectives
- To facilitate the locals by using electro-mechanical ventilator at low cost.
- To give an idea of the production of electro-mechanical ventilators to local industries to overcome the shortage of ventilators.
This is basically a suction machine, oxygen is sucked by the air bag through a valve from atmosphere, if a patient is in a serious condition, then compressed oxygen in replaced by atmospheric oxygen. Filtration of oxygen is performed in oxygen filter. The air suction bag is pressed by a piston which gives periodic motion to create vacuum in the air bag. The oxygen pressure is controlled with sensing regulator according to patient’s requirements. Beeping system is also installed for damaging conditions. Ventilator circuits and tidal and oxygen sensors are installed to coordinate and control internal operations.
Benefits of the Project- Production cost is very low as compared to commercial ventilator.
- Easy to fabricate and develop at a local level.
- Production rate is very high.
- It can reduce the shortage of ventilators in pandemic conditions.
