Project Implementation MethodFirst of all, Heat Exchanger will be designed and fabricated. Three different orifice baffles with different geometries of orifices will be designed and then they will be installed in the heat exchanger one by one and experiments will be carried out on them. One Geometry orifice will be taken at a time and the readings will be taken from sensors and then results will be drawn from them. After, getting results from using all three kinds of orifice baffles, those results will be compared and conclusions will be drawn based on the working and efficiency of heat exchanger. And then those conclusions will serve as guidelines for future works and for doing experiments in Labs.
Benefits of the ProjectThere are many benifits of our project. Its benifit to us is that we will understand the basic principles and working of Heat Exchanger. And as we draw conclusions from the results of our experiments and we analyze this heat exchanger after a number of experiments, we will be able to present those conclusions and analysis as guidlines to other students, lab staff and to those who wish to work on Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger in the future. Our analysis and conclusions will be able to guide us in selecting types of baffles and geometry of orifices in the baffles while designing Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe efficiency of Shell and Tube Heat exchanger is greatly influenced by types of baffles being used and the geometry of orifice in orifice baffles. We will be selecting Orifice Baffles and then work on and analyze the results of heat exchanger after using different orifice geometries of the orifice baffles.
