Automatic parcel sorting systems are essential for courier companies with a high distribution capacity and short time-to-deliver and courier companies need to increase the quality and reliability of their services as the Customers demand quicker deliveries of goods. In many courier companies parcel sorting and placing on their particular location is done manually which seems complex and takes time so we have decide to provide ease to courier companies by implementing a system which does all these work without the interference of human being. Our proposed project automatic parcel sorting system based on raspberry pi is one of the useful projects for couriers companies; we used the technique of RFID for the identification of different parcel the solution that we are providing to the courier companies.

Project Objectives

Parcel automation involves the use of technology that can automate the sortation process from door to door in the distribution center, such as inbound flow and automatic parcel singulation, automated induction and high-capacity solutions suitable for various types of parcel mix. These technologies are able to streamline and fasten the sortation process. Here are some great examples of how automation has really helped some distribution centers.

Project Implementation Method

first of all we will weigh the box using load cell. then push it through using conveyor belt. then the web camera will read the label on the box using a barcode reader. then the barcode reader will tell us if we need it to be send in karachi or lahore or some other place. then the box will move along and then the box will be pushed in the respected box.

human errors will be less. it is time efficient. it saves energy costs

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

we will present the prototype in an aluminium frame and hope that our project works just like we intend it to work
