Project Title

Design and Development of Multiplatform Surveillance System

Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject Summary
In today’s modern world, security and safety is a big concern. Daily, banks and other shops are robbed, and the ratio of robbery is increasing eventually. So, there is a need of such a safety system which minimizes the chances of robbery and help to keep the peace and safety maintained. The Design and Development of Multi-platform surveillance system offers such a system that would not only help to minimize the robbery factor in daliy life but also would save many precious human lives that are lost during such incidents. The project is hardware/software integration based. It uses a weapon detection algorithm that is trained on YOLO V5. YOLO V5 is the latest and fastest technology so far providing more accurate results and observations. The system uses CCTV to detect the weapon using the weapon detection algorithm. The system incorporates the Web portal (designed on Django framework of Python) and Android application (designed on Android Studio), that is why it is given the name of Multiplatform. When the CCTV detects a weapon, it sends an alert notification on Mobile phone and The Web portal. It sends a screenshot of the CCTV footage on both platforms along with two options, discarding the alert (by pressing green button) or approving the alert (by pressing red button). If the alert is discarded, the system resets and if the alert is approved, nearby police station or security agencies are notified with exact location to take action immediately.
Project Objectives

Following are the objectives of the project:

  1. To train weapon detection model.
  2. To implement the model on herdware.
  3. To design the GUI for the system.
  4. To interface the hrdware with WIFI module.
  5. To interface the hardware with GSM module.
Project Implementation Method

A proper timeline is to be followed for implementing the whole project till the end when a working prototype will be made.

These are few implementation steps to get to the final outcome of this project.

Benefits of the Project

There are many benefits of this project. Let us take a look at these benefits.

  1. The most positive outcome of this project as we see is the proper mobilization of Police network and private security organizations by providing them with better technology and more accurate data so that action can be taken properly on proper time.
  2. Saving precious human lives is another benifit of this project and securing the assets of humans. By notifying the relevant authorities on time, many human lives and assets can be saved.
  3. The project will reduce the human efforts and will increase the accuracy level of the security system upto 90% as the weapon detection algorithm is more fast, durable and accurate.
