The post-pandemic era coined a new meaning to human life that carries changed routines with digital devices and social distancing. This new digital life has caused a huge increase in mental breakdown among the common masses. The need for psychologists, practitioners, doctors, and experienced brains is more than ever before. This project is about the design and development of a mobile application for a startup Human Library. People can contact experts from the different fields and are known as Live Books meeting with the Reader - who requests for the expert under an endorsed mutual consent. This encompasses a novel way of giving and taking appointments, and calendar sharing. The Human Library Application project may bring all LIVE BOOKS together for their READERS. The benefit from one person to another is direct and everyone shares their best under the SHARED ECONOMY. The application is also known as Go-Together Mobile Application (GTMA) throughout this document. 

Project Objectives

To analyze the requirements of Pakistan’s 1st Human Library Mobile Application fulfilling the concept of Shared Economy. 

To document a pre-pay transaction system in the mobile application for easy money transfer as a pre-requisite of the meetings. 

To design and develop an authorized and authentic service model in the mobile application (GTMA). 

To execute an awareness social media campaign aggressively and record the success stories. Using GTMA 

To mark digital presence (web presence) for the multiple services under a parent organization - Helping Mind - and GTMA

Project Implementation Method

Step 1: The stakeholders shall examine the Proof of Concept (POC). 

Step 2: The preparation and signing-off of the Non- Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with the parent organization Helping Mind (HM). 

Step 3: Requirement gathering for designing UML diagrams (Figure 2), Balsamiq sketches (Figure 2) and UI/UX, and GTMA’s prototype.

Step 4: Proposed design of GTMA according to the requirements desired of Helping Mind Organization. 

Step 5: Finalization of UI/UX with prototype development and building a user-centered navigation design following the famous design principles of Donald Norman. 

Step 6: Development of GTMA and handing over control to the stakeholders. 

Step 7: Feedback of GTMA from its users with a diversified background

Benefits of the Project

The gap in physical meetings which has been widening during the covid-19 pandemic can be narrowed down through GTMA. GTMA will allow its Reader to get human library services through ‘The Helping Mind organization. GTMA is totally based on revolutionized current business models, in this way, each and specific kind of person can make an impact in other member’s life. The concept of the sharing economy helps earn for the Live Books while keeping the expenses minimum for its Readers. Live Books shall be providing guidance and sharing experienced-based knowledge whether during the online meetings or during a table talk at restaurants, homes, or offices with convenience. Figure 1 simply describes the concept of the Live Book and Reader.

A Reader can also avail of various other features using GTMA and becoming a member of the Helping Mind which is the first human library in Pakistan. Those features include but are not limited to: 

• Leadership Training 

• Career counseling  

• Psycho-Education 

• Life Coaching 

• Becoming book 

• ADHD 

• Autism 

• Dyslexia 

• Becoming a Live Book or Reader 

Live Books can connect and provide training while traveling to different cities or places and may conduct online meetings or in-person. This helps hesitant clients to become interactive with unknown but authorized persons only and have diverse experience of meeting with diversified practitioners and experts

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final product will be an application (GTMA) that utilizes the required hardware by the Live Book. The use of VR and AR shall enhance the mental health of the Reader.

GTMA is the best-suited solution for anyone including the stressed, anxious, or confused ones. The Readers (people) who feel embarrassed to visit any therapist, or life coach or find it difficult to access the healers due to typical duty hours, are the potential users of the GTMA. It gives the reader an opportunity to follow the Live-Book from a common platform. This application would be helpful for any kind of client e.g., suffering from psychological stresses or working in a poisonous culture, facing educational difficulties, or business developing solutions for startups. Also, the Reader can find, contact, or meet their dream and renowned teachers, guides, life coaches, career counselors, business people, entrepreneurs at the national or international level
