Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject Summary.An autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), also called as unmanned underwater vehicles, is a robot that performs underwater survey missions such as detection and mapping of obstructions, rocks, submerged wrecks without the need for input from an operator. AUVs are often used as survey platforms to map the seafloor or characterize physical, chemical, or biological properties of the water. In this project the main focus will be on demonstrating sinking and floating capabilities of submarine by sending commands from base station. The mission of the submarine will be updated wirelessly from the base station. The mission will be updated when the AUV is on surface of water.
Project ObjectivesObjective of the project is to
- Develop and exhibit understanding in the field of Control System.
- Wireless communication.
The sinking and floating capabilities of the submarine will be demonstrated in this project. The sinking of the AUV will be done by small tanks in which water will be sucked in. As a result the weight of the AUV will increase and it will sink. In order to float the submarine the tanks will be emptied. For updating the mission of the AUV wireless communication from the base station will be done.
