Certain fires broke out in different parts of the world which couldn’t be controlled and thus result in the loss of lives. As there was no way for a human to get inside in such kind of conditions and the loss is inevitable. To encounter those deadly incidents, we want to design and develop a quadcopter that could extinguish such fires by using a fire extinguishing ball which could lessen out the human dependencies. The fire extinguishing ball connected with the gripper will be controlled by a manual switch. The gripper will drop the fire extinguishing ball at the incident place. For stabilizing the highly unstable quadcopter, a controller will be designed that will ensure the stable flight of the quadcopter. Simulations and programming will be carried upon using Arduino and MATLAB. The developed prototype can also be used as a test bench for simulating and implementing control theories.  This project will potentially useful for applications such as firefighting, and rescue operations. It is envisaged in the future to work on graphical user interface-based object detection.

The objectives for this project are split into the following tasks.

  7. Ensure the quadcopter applicability for firefighting purposes
  8. Verification and testing
Project Implementation Method

Our plan is to select components of hardware for assembling and refurbishing the quadcopter kit. Once we have a custom-made prototype, then we will move on towards the following main three stages.

Benefits of the Project

Our project mainly focuses on fire extinguishing application of a quadcopter which will help saves lives of people in critical situations but this project will also be potentially useful for many purposes like inspection of power lines, security and rescue operations, etc.
