They convert energy from sources like batteries to Ac Power of whatever rating required. This makes Inverters very important especially Multi Level Inverters as they con work with several low- level DC Power Supply to give us AC Power Output .
As Traditional Power Converters can only give us output voltage which switches between two levels , Multi Level Inverters generates our wanted voltage from several DC Input Voltages .
This is why Multi Level Inverter was the topic of the Project , to be able to design Multi Level Inverters and to control thier operation and their output.
Multi Level Inverters are simulated in MATLAB and various topologies are used to check their performance and various methods are used to control Multi Level Inverter and make analysis on it's performance.
Then Multi Level Inverter Model is designed based on our Simulations.
Project Objectives- The Focus of the Project is to simulate Multi Level Inverter which can be then physically constructed to work in real-time.
- To make a Power Efficient Multi Level Inverter.
- To make an easily controllable Multi Level Inverter.
This Project is divided into three Phases, firstly researching Multi Level Inverters , their topologies and the work done on them.
Secondly to simulate Multi Level Inverters in MATLAB and gain knowledge how they work, try methods to control them in MATLAB and improve their efficiency.
Lastly to create a Physical Model based on our Matlab Research.
Benefits of the Project- It will allow us to design a Multi Level Inverter that is more Controllable.
- It will enhance our understanding of various topologies of Multi Level Inverters.
- Design a Multi Level Inverters which has an Increased Efficiency.
This Project Comprises of Matlab Software, hardware containing circuits, IGBT's which will be used in Multi Level Inverters, Controllers like ( Model Predicitive Controller ) , Predictors, Filters, Transformers for stepping-up or stepping-down Voltage levels, Measuring Devices like Ammeter, Voltmeter for measuring Voltage, Current as well as Arduino which will act as a Microcontroller which will help in measurments.
