Design & Development Of An Economic Gas Geyser
Project Area of Specialization Mechanical EngineeringProject SummaryPakistan will be facing a huge shortfall of 4,800 million cubic feet per day in local production of gas and its demand by fiscal year 2027-28. Gas Geyser have a many heat loses during operation due to which more natural gas/LPG required for it to work properly. For this reason there is a need of more efficient and also economical gas geyser which can help us to reduce energy crisis of world.
So for this reason a new design gas geyser was manufactured by installing hollow fins in the heat plate and vent of the gas geyser to reduce heat loss and which heat up the water more quickly by reaching at optimum temperature. So by doing this the consumption of gas was reduced and which help extremely in saving energy.
Project Objectives- To minimize the heat losses of a gas geyser and make it more economical. To analyze of heat lossesof an existing gas geyser and arrest their heat losses.
- To reduce the consumption of gas.Modification of an existing gas geyser with minimum heat losses using the hollow fins design in geyser.
- Testing of the gas geyser to find out the efficiency and compare it with standard gas geysers.Comparison of cost of gas geyser to check its economical perspective.

- Minimized Heat Losses
- Reduced Gas Consumption
- Material Selection For Hollow Fins(Copper)
- Increasing the rate of Heat Transfer
The gas geyser quickly heat up the water at cutoff or optimum temperature because of installation of hollow fins which is made up of a copper in the plate of water tank and in the vent of gas geyser due to the hollow fins the heat transfer rate was increased because contact area of water with hot surface increased. So in result time consumption was shortened due to this gas consumption was also decreased.
