The patient whose already in manual peritoneal dialysis, cant manage the system espacilly infection control.
- After the study of international available automated PD system are costly and defaults for patient friendly.
- This project is converting manual PD to automatic PD system easy patient friendly.
- This system based on the latest technology in engineering and medical with protection of patient safety.

Communication interface
The communication in System is built around a micro controller
, which is an Echelon neuron 3150. It runs at 10 MHz
And uses twisted pair 78 kb/sec for communication with the
Rest of the system.
The neuron is connected to the rest of the system through a
LONTALK network.
The interface between the neuron and the main processor is
Through a DUAL PORT RAM, IC4, with built in hardware
Semaphores.
Processor
The main processor is ELANSC300 from AMD operating
At 33 MHz (external SYSCLK at 9.2 MHz). The processor
Contains the bus controller and interface directly with standard
Memory. Built-in refresh for dynamic memory. A Real Time
Clock is also included in the kernel.
Display Interface
The display is a standard TFT LCD but the controller can
Directly drive a standard VGA display.
Touch screen controller
On the board there is a touch screen-to-protocol converter,
This circuit, PIC16LC711 converts the analog
signals from the resistive touch screen to the standard protocol.
Real time clock
DS1685 is the PC-AT compatible real time clock circuit. The
CMOS RAM is integrated in this circuit.
Programmable logic devices
There are two PLD on the board. iM4A3-128/64 is used
for address decoding (IO and memory) and glue logic on
CPU.
iM4A5-32/32 is used for address decoding (IO and
memory) on Neuron CPU.
A/D system
The neuron interfaces to an A/D converter with a SPI interface.
The A/D converter measures DC supply voltage, battery
voltage, charger status signals, front panel buttons, power up
status etc.
Buzzer
The neuron can control a buzzer for alarm situation.
