Converting any normal screen into Touch screen
When one thinks about advancement in technology, the thought of touch screens pops up in most of the individuals’ minds because touch screen is the basic and most used technology in new gadgets and devices and its quite understandable because everyone using gadgets and modern devices will prefer to just touch the instruction that they want to be processed instead of pressing the buttons or having to hover a pointer device over the instructions and selecting it by clicking it for the processing. As we can see that touch screens are a great deal in the advancement of technology, we also intend to chip in and play our part being electronic engineering students to innovate this technology and we plan to do so, by developing a detachable (plug and play) gadget which by connecting to any projector screen converts it into interactive touch screen. As buying a touch screen projector is way too costly(Epson V11H740522 BrightLink 695Wi LCD Projector costs 2423$) https://www.amazon.com/Epson-BrightLink-Interactive-Projector-1280x800/dp/B01N6L8QMG for reference, so our project is a cheaper and easier solution to touch screen problems. Our gadget will be used below the projected screen and will help us build a touch screen, it will work with the help of a USB port. The device is based on the use of IR (infrared) transceivers. This project can be very useful to the users who want to operate projectors with the help of fingers rather than operating it with the help of a computer. Operating the projector screen with the help of a computer makes it a bit difficult while delivering a lecture because you have to move between project screen and laptop again and again.
To provide a cheaper solution for costly touch projectors
The project works on the methodology of the following cycle.

We are going to develop a device that is made out of a chain of Infrared Sensors and then that chain is coated in a plastic wrapping, implemented at the bottom of the projected screen. When the finger is placed at any point of the screen, the IR rays are obstructed from that particular point and the IR sensor measure the distance as how far is the finger placed on the screen. Once the point of touch is detected, we instruct the computer through programming to move the pointer to the point of touch and behave as instructed.
This project is expected to be a solution to the problems that the users have to face in the field of touch screen technology. The main benefits include power efficiency, elimination of some limitations, easy to use, plug and play gadget, cheaper, easily replaceable and a replacement for the touch projectors. Thus all in all a complete solution for touch screen problems. The normal conventional projected screens come with some limitations like they cannot be used with gloves, wet hands, oily hands or dirty hands but our project eliminates such problems making it very useful for industrial use and it can be used in any harsh environments. The other benefit includes that the user does not need to go to the technician for a projector repair all you need to do is to replace a cheap gadget. This project can be implemented in all the areas where projectors are used. It can be implemented at offices, educational institutes, business organizations, corporate companies, industries or any place where computers and projectors are used.
The final product for the projected screen is expected to be a small and sleek plastic coated chain of IR sensors that are supposed to be placed at the bottom of the projection of the projector and connected through a USB port. The screen of the projected screen is divided into grids. The power is provided through the USB port. It will contain a micro-controller IC and the program will be burnt on it for the instructions and the instructions are programmed in C++ language.
