We aim to design an application named “Connect Religion”. This application will allow the users to find a nearby masjid or other religious places so that they can find a masjid and attend daily prayers or Friday prayer etc. This application will work on Google map scenario and goal of our application would be to show the nearby religious places, show a way or direction to reach to the destination, will let the user know what is the time for Friday prayer or Eid prayer of a specific masjid so, that the user can set an alarm to inform themselves. The application also supports to find nearby temple or church for the non-Muslims and get details about it. Other than that, previous applications developed on this domain have some limitations for example the user cannot get notified about certain prayer time like an alarm or notification scenario, the app shows news and events but a user cannot book a personal event [“Masjid”]. This application shows prayers times but it does not let the user know if he has misses a jamaat and where he can find a jamaat. A feature known as ask Imam is included in the app to have questions with the Imam but the limitation is what if there are too many people with the same question hence, the Imam can't answer each of them separately. Instead a way to organize a religious discussion would be better, which is not included in this app [“My Mosque”]. This app finds religious places for users according to their religion but the limitation is it only finds the location it does not show any other details like prayer timings and so on. If we look carefully it is just a location finder app [“Religious Places”].

• To design an application for people of different religions so that they can receive updates about specific worship place, ask questions from the scholar, share live bayan session and neglect the above defects and limitations

Benefits of the Project

The scope of this project is to develop an application which will help users to find nearby mosques or temples and get details about prayer timings. The use of this android app will allow its users to interact with each other and solve each other's problems. Other than that, the imam can make a room for other users and share live bayan. There would be a community based messaging feature, where the users can easily contact and get details.

We are targeting users who attend their prayers daily in their specified worship places, whether it be Muslims or non-Muslims. Users can get details of the prayer timings on their mobile, they can even ask questions from their scholars. Our app user can book an event or appointment in a masjid (for Nikah or religious discussion) rather than going to the masjid and book an appointment for this purpose.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

• Account Management
• Find nearby Masjid according to user area
• Get details about a specific place (prayer time, Eid prayer time and so on)
• Find a route to reach the Masjid
• Set an alarm or notification for a specific Masjid prayer
• Receives updates about specific worship place (Example Eid namaz to be held at this time etc.)
• An admin panel
• Will tell the user about where they can find a jamaat, if they miss somewhere so they can go to offer the prayer at another masjid.
• The application will have a feature where as soon as the user reached their destination, it will ask them to turn their phone to silent mode.
• Community Based Messaging feature, the users will contact the masjid owners in a group based messaging chat where the owner can reply and discuss everyone queries without replying to each of them separately.
• A tutorial about how to offer prayer, how to do wudhu (for beginners)
• For non-Muslims, find a church, temple near them and get details about it.
• For now custom online node JS server with jwt token for handling a proper hashed security key for each user and to provide video streaming and screen sharing. Since we’re not deploying yet we’ll be using webRTC own service which provides a custom demo server for handling streams and users.
• Donate zakat feature, secured stripe payment API to handle secured transactions.
• Book an event or appointment in a masjid (for Nikah or religious discussion).
