As a result, they face a big challenge in the long run as far as their communication skills are concerned. Many opportunities available for ordinary members of society become out of reach for them. When such children are given hearing aids they face a very interesting problem. Since they had not heard and processed speech so they don’t know how to speak.
This idea focuses on developing an application in which special children’s disabilities in concerned. Special children need specialized training for learning. This training is imparted by trained speech therapists. In Pakistan, the number of properly trained speech therapists is far less than what is needed. As a result, a large number of children are unable to receive the professional training that they need to be able to speak properly. AI-Based SLMS is a whole solution for such Children.
Project ObjectivesAn AI-based Slow Learner Management System (SLMS) where such special children are addressed through different courses based on their learning disabilities. With the decline in the cost of listener hardware, it is now possible for the less fortunate ones to afford basic hardware, the problem is software. In Pakistan, the number of properly trained speech therapists is far less than what is needed and special schools are there in big cities but numbers are close to none in rural areas. So, we are filling the gap between therapists and institutes for special children through our App.
Project Implementation MethodThe Smart Slow Learner Management system is a learning system for disabled children. It will be a Web App where children can have access to a number of courses related to their disabilities. The idea of this web Application was far more concerned with children with hearing and speaking disabilities. 95 percent are the chances that a child with a hearing disorder will have a speaking disorder too. So, their main concern will be Sign Language. Hereby the collaboration of NGOs working for such children. We offer them a number of courses. A single course will be divided into four weeks of work. Each week will have several lessons and lessons with several topics. Students who complete the work for a whole week will participate in a quiz or assignment and most importantly they can test their learning through ' practice window'.
Practice window is referring to a tab that gets access to your Pc or Laptop's camera and in front of that camera, children can make those signs as per instructions and get evaluated.
Along with Practice Window, those assignments will be evaluated by Special Education's final year students, who will do this as their semester activity.
