The project is about “3-Axis CNC Marble Cutting and Carving Machine”, it offers the ability to cut and carve complex shapes using raw marble hence adds value in marble products.
Marble structures are a part of Pakistan’s culture. Almost every house, has marble work done in it. But we are limited to certain simple designs and skilled craftsmen take much longer time and effort to make such designs.
This project will help in designing and fabrication of marble products in lesser time, it will easily produce different patterns and shapes which would take a normal person several hours or may be days. CNC machines are more useful and accurate hence can favour local marble industries to grow economically by adding value to raw marble through carving and cutting, by speeding up their production with high quality and good designed marble.
The design of machine will be a simple CNC Router Design, having bed size 4ft x 3ft, will operate on stepper motors and based on Mach 3 controller. The software for G-code preparation will be an open source software.
1. Design and fabrication of 3-axis CNC machine for Marble cutting and carving of 2D profiles.
2. Auto- tool positioning.
Firstly we will to liitratue review related to CNC marble cutting machine. After that we will do mathematical calculation to find the equired forces anf to calulate the motors required. Then we will design a prototype CAD model using software solidworks, which will help us in making a stable and compact design of our CNC machine. After testing the design on software we will move towards implementing it on hardware step by step starting from X, Y Gantry then towards CNC
router. we will implement the electrical parts. Will use sensors for the auto-calibration of positioning system.Then we will implement Mach 3 USB card for control and using open source software we will prepare our G-code to run the CNC. After this is done we will make some models to rendure our system. We will then fabricate more designs to see our results and work on the machine making it more precise and efficent.
This project will lower the cost of CNC machine for local industries, which will help in lifting up the economy. It wil help in designing and fabrication of marble products in lesser time, it will easily produce different patterns and shapes which would take a normal person several hours or may be days.
It will also up lift the culture of pakistan as it is a trend to use marble in ourr domestic life.

Complete implementation of the sytem will be done. It will auto-calibrate tool position. Fabrication of the marble will be aplicable with precise measurments.
