Climate Chaos
The lack of awareness of global warming has been accompanied by a sharp increase in the detrimental effects on the environment. This correlation has received significant attention and hence, the main aim of my Graduation Project is to teach teens (12+ years) the solutions of global warming through an interactive, tangible game. This can also help instill societal responsibility and critical thinking skills. Keeping all the research results in mind, I applied them to my ideation process to design a game which encourages competition and creative play. It further motivates children to do their best, stimulate discipline and help think about issues from many perspectives, leading to various solutions. As a result, the proposed solution includes an interface similar to a board game with 1-4 players. The objective of the game is to lower the temperature on the visual thermometer, by correctly matching the solution to the cause of global warming. In this way, the players learn cause & effect and strategically apply the solutions.

Apart from learning what global warming is, the players also learn how to adapt to the changes to avoid further destruction. The target users are the young teens and adults as change started from the youth. They can grow up to be responsible and aware of their actions and spread their knowledge to their peers.
This game enhances climate education as currently only formal lessons are taught or practical lessons are given. However, this does not create a sense of urgency among the students, which is crucial at this time.
This is an electronic board game consisting of 4 interconnected boards. The flaps open up infront of each player. These boards have a card slot to insert the "cause" cards, solution spaces to place the "solution" coins, and a red light in the center which acts as a thermometer. Objective is to bring down the temperature by correctly matching the solutions to the cause. RFID sensors and tags are the main technology being implemented, along with controllers to give feedback to the player by raising or lowering the temperature and to also provide communication between the boards. Each coin has a RFID tag sticker and the slots on the board have the readers. The center piece is a coin bank, which is a clear tube with a spring at the bottom and a stopper at the top.
Each flap has magnets on the sides to make storage easier. When closed the game reaches a height of about 25 cm and width of 12 cm.
