Project Summary

We as a team brought up a very demanding application with some unique features. We will be developing an Android Application that will help to solve the major problem of parents about their children's activities. Our application will provide various functionalities to parents which will help them in managing their children's smartphone usage i.e. like restricting app activities, gaining information regarding their location, call logs, messages, contacts, usage time of applications and sharing all those information over an encrypted network to servers which will then broadcast it to the parent phones. This application demands that both parent and child clients must have GPS based Smart Phones. As the new technology comes up we’ll possibly be adding some advanced features of sharing files, information among parents securely over the network using blockchain technology that ensures easy document sharing along with authenticity and reliability of a tamper proof system.

Project Objectives

As the era has shifted towards the latest technology it has become very common for children to use smartphones for their educational purpose or indoor activities like gaming, chatting with friends or watching a movie. 

But on the other hand it has become very important for parents to keep track of their children's activities without interfering into their social life. So, the main objective of this app is to overcome the problems which parents face frequently without any need to be physically present all the time.

This application will do the job quite nicely without the need of any help and will also help them to control and restrict their children from those apps/activities which they should not be using or are prohibited for them, It can help parents to protect children from bad habits and over use of any application, parents will satisfied by keep track of their children activities

 

Project Implementation Method

Our project implementation lies in several sections. The frontend consists of an Android application which was our primary target. For backend implementation, we used Flask (Python's web framework) server to control our app's main flow. Additionally, we've implemented a python-based UDP server solely to manage the voice feature for our app.

Benefits of the Project

Our aim was to develop an Android mobile application that gives parents the ability to control/manage their children’s smartphone using the API provided by the mobile’s vendor by keeping track of their children activities like; location, call & message logs, restriction of application, etc. without interfering into their social life. The main idea of this app was to overcome the problems that parents usually face while keeping track of their children. So we came up with a mobile based solution which helps parents to not only track their children but also control their mobile usage from time to time without any need to be physically present all the time.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable
