We are going to design such a system that will help out students in their online education while making a presentation they can charge their laptop’s battery as they strike the keys on the keypad. Moreover, they can utilize this battery while watching lectures where they have to just watch the screen and do no work mechanically.
Hence, making a presentation will charge energy and that energy will be used doing non-typing tasks.
Moreover, this system if applied in offices can be a great evolution. And it will be much more economical.
Stepping into a technological world and still facing battery issues in remote areas? Visiting a village and came to know there is no light in the area and you are out of charging and an important work to submit immediately? Think of what a comfort this will be if you are on a long journey and your laptop battery would be dead.
Interestingly you can regulate enabling and disenabling the battery to start and stop charging respectively. When the battery gets fully charged a small bulb will glow and on this indication you can switch off the charging process.
More precisely, our work will include:
- A button to switch on/off the charging.
- A small light bulb will start glowing when the battery is fully charged.
No more battery issues in your laptops anymore!
Project ObjectivesOur project’s main objective is to work innovatively and to introduce an idea that will revolutionize the technological world. We are determined to head up towards a new laptop era.
Our objectives for choosing this project are:
- Having a better understanding of the energy conversation mechanism in laptops.
- Trying our hands on hardware based system so that we can become familiar with it.
- Try to conclude different voltage requirements at each step of the circuit system.
- To get a good awareness about the capacitance, boosters, diodes and battery issues.
Coming towards the objectives of selection of Piezo plates for our project, we would like to explain that the crystals of which Piezo materials are made have a very unique structure. That structure exactly matches or requirement that is, a product that will preserve strike energy, convert it and would be able to deliver it in another form. i.e Current.
Since, this is the overall a new idea we are going to try different Piezo discs and hence to explore which will suit our need.
The piezoelectric crystal is placed between two metal plates. Mechanical pressure is then applied to the material by the metal plates, which forces the electric charges within the crystal out of balance. Excess negative and positive charges appear on opposite sides of the crystal face. That charge is stored in a capacitor and can be used to charge the laptop battery.
Till now, battery charging is a great issue. We are excited to explore the region that don’t exist in hardware configuration. The main reason to select this idea for our project is the pandemic situation all over the world and the result of this on educational system. Students all over are going through online classes, online quizzes and everything online. Being in this situation our hearts also demands for a technology that will eradicate this external charging systems for batteries.
This type of hardware needs efficient crystals for Piezo discs to generate a good voltage output.
Although this project will not for sure give the exact results as no previous documentations and concerned working of experts but it will lead to innovation as we know that no technology is introduced perfectly. It goes through modifications but the first one although inappropriate gives the way to modification that lead to innovation!
Project Implementation MethodOur project is basically an emerging technology in world which is in its very initial phases. Implementation is overall based on hit and trial method of hardware components for hardware configuration which is for the time being undefined appropriately. For the time being which we used for prototyping this technology will require the following things:
- Piezo plates connected parallel.
- Diodes 1N5819.
- Capacitor 470µF/16v.
- Boost converter MT-3608 (2v-24v). o/p 18v
- Battery.
- A totally new and advanced technology; will bring revolution.
- Efficient for students in online studies.
- An effective time and energy saving technology.
- Will help in improving economy if used in official works.
Due to inappropraiate availability of products and equipments in Pakistan it is estimated that we would present the basic idea showing the working of our proposal we would describe the shortcoming which in case of appropriate piezo discs and boosters would give the proper result.
In brief, we would show the overall mechanism with calculations in our final deliverable and also will highlight the short comings in it with proper calculations.
Our final deliverable would be shown in a wooden case.
