Project Area of Specialization Mechanical EngineeringProject SummaryIn this project, we will design "Gunpod" practically and will integrate it with "SMK Aircraft". The making and installation of "Gunpod" geometry on "SMK Aircraft" will be a new innovation. We will also do AAA and CFD analysis of gun pod on “Super Mushak” aircraft. We will analyze the effect of the gun pod on the aerodynamic behavior of aircraft. We will determine the performance, stability and control attributes for the new geometry. We will use CFD to improve the aerodynamics of the gun pod which will contribute towards the better performance of the aircraft. An aerodynamically better design will result in better holding ability of the “gun pod” than before. Results will be compared with the already present work for understanding basic strategy for installing gun pod with lesser effects on aircraft aerodynamics. Installation of the gun pod will affect aircraft’s performance, stability and control which can be determined and improved using AAA software.

- Grid generation and then the simulation
- Repeating with different models and hardpoint locations to check for results
- Obtaining aerodynamic coefficients from CFD simulations.
- Using AAA for stability, control and performance analysis
- Comparing results and finding a conclusion.
- Designing "Gunpod" geometry practically.
- Installation of "Gunpod" geometry on SMK aircraft.
- Documentation.
- Addition of "Gunpod" to "SMK Aircraft" will improve the fighting capabilities of "SMK Aircraft".
- Installation of "Gunpod Geometry" on "SMK Aircraft" will equip the aircraft for Counterinsurgency operations, strafing attacks and attacking UAVs.
- A perfectly installed gun pod will help in storing, controlling and supporting a controllable moving gun unit.
- Additional firepower will be provided to SMK aircraft due to gun pod installation without occupying internal volume. When not required for a specific mission they can be omitted to save weight.
- Comparison of results with already present ideas might help in improving the installation process for other aircrafts in the future.
