Brain Controlled game
As technology is being emerging day by day. Due to which it’s impact on our lives is also increasing accordingly. Even if we only talk about impact of technology regarding entertainment in our lives, then still its remarkable. Almost all of us are being entertained by technology in our daily lives in form of televisions, computers or mobiles etc. But for an instance if we think about those who are not able to take advantage from this technology (for entertainment only)? directly ( Like those who are not able to move their hands or even don’t have hands or arms), they are still dependent on others to take advantage from it.
By keeping in mind those people (who are not able to move their hands ) , we aim to develop a “Game app “, which they can control through their mind.
The basic mechanism of this application is, when humans think, a chemical reaction takes place in their mind, in result to which some signals are produced. In our project we will read and study those signals and only extract signals related to attention and focus to perform above mentioned functions in our app. We will fetch those signals through BCI ( Brain Computer Interface). Those signals generated in brain are transferred in machine via EEG (Electroencephalogram) sensors linked with brain through BCI(Brain-Computer-Interface)
The limitation of this project are:
• User’s mind should work properly
• 100% accuracy can never be guaranteed.
• User should always wear headset(signals receiver) to use that app.
Project objectives are included here as,
1. Preparing a dataset of at least 3 people.
2. Creating an on-screen keyboard UI that will partition the keyboard in different flickering frequencies. 3. Creating the desktop application to process signals from headset and convert them and the output will be mapped on the five functions of game like (forward, backward, left, right and brake).
4. Merging both UI and signal processing applications .
Even though touch screen and voice controlled systems have revolutionized the interaction of humans with modern technology, there are still some people who are unable to use these systems. People who are fully physically paralyzed who can only see through their eyes but are unable to do any physical movement.
This project is focused on creating a system that will enable people, with earlier discussed conditions, to interact with different technologies. Just by using their eyes and brain to interact with technology, without doing any physical efforts.
he final deliverable product will contain,
1. A headset that will enable us to receive signals from our brain and send them to the computer.
2. A desktop application
a. That will show partitioned on-screen keyboard. Each partition flickers at a different frequency. User focusing on a particular partition will result in brain producing signals according to frequency of partition
b. The application will also process the signals received from headset and convert them and the output will be mapped on the five functions of game like (forward, backward, left, right and brake).
