Project Summary

The world has been suffering from Dengue disease for last 20 years, and more than 27000 cases reported from Pakistan. A person suffering from Dengue need to undergo blood CBC test daily to observe the decrement rate of white blood cells and platelets. Now a days mostly doctors recommend blood test to observe red blood cells count, white blood cells count, platelets count, and blood group on first visit by patient.

The proposed system is an android application which will count red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets , identifies blood group and the system will determine the dengue stages on the basis of cells count . The above mentioned parameters will be measured from microscopic image of blood. The user will provide input to the system in the form of microscopic image of blood either from digital image or from microscopic lens that can be connected to smart phone.

Project Objectives

  • To detect dengue at early stages easily
  • To count RBC, WBC, Platelets(CBC) through smart phone for disease’s detection
  • To assist doctors in remote areas

Project Implementation Method

  • Applying Image processing techniques on microscopic images of blood
  • Using Convolutional Neural Network, Round Circle Detection ,Hough’s Algorithms to capture data from Microscopic image
  • Machine learning models will be trained on dataset using Azure platform
  • Dataset will be obtained from Kaggle and from different laboratories and hospitals
  • Data will be passed to trained models for testing and result will be generated
  • Generated results will be displayed on Android application
