Project Objectives

ØThis project aims at designing an automated system to monitor the bottle filling process in a beverage industry or any bottle filling industry. The objectives of this work are to :

vCheck the presence of Bottle

vStop the conveyor belt and check the size of bottle.

vFill the bottle according to its size and move forward.

ØThe whole system is carried on with the help of image processing technique utilizing the Python language platform. The images of bottle are captured using a high frame rate smart camera, then acquired on to the Raspberry Pi through its Camera port and processed with the help of Open CV Library.

Project Implementation Method

ØWe proposed an Image Processing System, in which the camera will continuously capture images and at that time we will be able to decide which bottle is check the bottle is present or not using proposed image processing algorithm.

ØFilling bottle using machine with accuracy is subject to error from a wide variety of potential problems from flow rates to glass bottle variations.

ØAutomatic bottling is used to increase the company efficiency than which is done by manually.

ØTo ensure consistent fill levels 100% quality inspection is required. Inspection systems must also be capable of keeping up high speed filling / bottling machinery.

ØFailure to properly fill bottles to the correct volumes as stated on packaging results in loss of customer loyalty, consumer fraud allegations and recalls.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Conventional sensor based methods have proven to be expensive and difficult to setup the system and change. In fact, human labors are slower and their efficiency is affected by their states of tiredness, illness or human short comings, some cases they don’t have proper skills and in some toxic and hazardous cases human labors are not sufficient. So therefore using of machine vision system for this process is overcomes this problem. In industrial system to reduce human efforts and for improves the quality of bottle filling machine vision system is being developed and automate the filling and inspection process
