In this project, the aim is to reduce the load of the traffic occurring in the parking area in different places. Now a days vehicle parking at shopping malls and markets is becoming a big issue and is causing to traffic jam.

To avoid such problems, this project is designed wherein the system indicates empty slots and filled slots at the entry itself, so that a vehicle driving person can directly take the vehicle to that particular empty slot.

AVPS (automated vehicle parking systems) require significantly less area and volume for a given number of parking spaces than other parking options.

Project Objectives

The Conventional parking solutions are too large or unfeasible whereas the design flexibility of AVPS (automated vehicle parking system) allows them to fit in locations or areas.

AVPS can be installed inside, under or between existing structures, very narrow and deep areas and even irregularly shaped spaces: horizontally, vertically or both. AVPS help increase profitability by using unusable or lower value space for Vehicle parking.

Project Implementation Method

We try to improve parking System by using different techniques Such as Image processing (machine learning), also includes Arduino based work.

Smart recognition of Vehicle:

There are two aspects of Smart Recognition of vehicle which are taken care of. Firstly, We can recognize the vehicle by their number plates with the help of image processing in AVP system, Number Plates data will be saved in database. Secondly we use image processing to check the availability of slots in the Parking area.

    

Time Calculation:

               By using the data which is being obtained through image processing at entrance point. We will calculate the timing of vehicle for Billing purpose.

Display for Guidance:

                We will display the free slot of the parking area to the driver for parking on a LED screen at the entrance point.

Benefits of the Project

We are advancing with time, the manual Vehicle parking system in commercial spaces is creating hurdle which is causing wastage of time and some economic losses as well. Therefore we need a solution which can overcome these problems. Here we are introducing Automated Parking Systems as a solution of these problems as well as car parking system in commercial spaces is creating hurdle which is causing wastage of time and some economical losses as well.

Therefore we need a solution which can overcome these problems. Here we are introducing Automated Vehicle Parking Systems as a solution of these problems as well as a replacement to the manual Vehicle parking systems at commercial spaces. This system not only saves time and money, it can also earn money by charging for parking spaces.
