The world is moving towards automation in almost everything. Technology is trying to reduce
the human effort and make the environment and security system efficient and intelligent. There are
so many automation systems installed in many organizations in the world, And the world is trying
to adopt the new systems which are more efficient, fast and reliable than manual system.
In the modernizing world we have been facing severe issues of security that often results in lack of
security and trust on manual system. We need security almost in every institution and due to this we
are no more secure in this present world. Therefore, we must take some timely actions to improve
our security system.
The opening of security gate for the authorize or relevant vehicle can be done by taking picture of
vehicle and then detecting number plate of the vehicle. Raspberry Pi Module along with the Python
language will be used to control the system, the algorithms will be developed. If the number of the
vehicle matched with our data base, then gate will be opened otherwise an alarm will be ring incase
of irrelevant vehicle. The system can be extended to an effective attendance system using face
recognition techniques and can also be used for the security purpose at sensitive areas.
The number plate will be monitored and detected through camera at the door. And when plate will be near the camera, it will be detected and then recognized by the Raspberry Pi installed there. The authorized vehicles will be recognized by their number plates and if number plate is in authorized number plates stored in database, the door will be opneend else not.
Benefits of the ProjectMost of the times we do not believe on the manual system in highly sophisticated places so it it is good way to implement autuomatic number plate recognition in our to improve our security system. We can also exten this application to the smart parking system. This project is going to reduce human efforts.Using this system we can also extend its appication to the challan system for exceeding speed limit. This technique of image processing can be implemented in face detection attendence system in any institutions.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe technical details of trhe project inculdes Algorithm Understanding (Python) for analysis of project on simulation. It can be done by using open cv software. Then we will interface the developed algorithm with the raspberry pi. We will interface LCD with the Raspbeery pi3 for working on software. Then we will implement this on hardware. For hardware we need a small vehicle, a pair of servo motors,a pair of raspbeery pi3,raspbeery pi camera,IR sensors and a pair of batteries of 12V. IR sensors will defetect the vahicle and will issue the signal to the camera ,the camera will process the number plate of the vehicle and if the number is included in our data base then gate will be opened. Otherwise it will issue signal to the relevant person for further operation.
