A systematic research methodology is adopted keeping in mind the ultimate goal of a fully functional and autonomous human following trolley. A decentralized top down approach will be used for this project. The project is divided into different modules each module is different from another module. Different phases will be carried out step by step, starting by basic sensor testing and proceeding toward avoiding from obstacles, object detection, object tracking and data transmission. Due to decentralized approach all modules and sensors acts independently. Data collected from different modules and sensors will be analyzed collectively and intelligent decision will be taken on the basis of information obtained that instruct the trolley to move toward a particular direction. This approach will be most suitable because if there is a fault in any one of the module it will have no effect on the entire system. Hence this provides the best possible result by maintaining accuracy.
To design an accurate human following trolley that make shopping easy without any effort.

Implementation will be tested through simulation, programming and finally a physical working prototype will be designed and fabricated.

This project consists of two major functions. The first one is to follow the human through image processing using Raspberry Pi and the distance between obstacles and trolley is maintained by using sensors.
