These alarms can be categorized as Critical, Major and Minor on the basis of their severity. Critical alarms must be reported from centralized operation maintenance center to the Engineers deputed at remote areas for timely rectification. For this an automatic alarm reporting system is required to do the job. We are creating an alarm reporting system which is categorized as Critical, Major and Minor on the basis of their severity, and then sent message or call to relevant engineer.
Project Objectives- Extraction of critical alarms from OMC
- Database design for alarms
- Server-Processing module interfacing for handling alarms
- Integration of GSM module for automatic alarms reporting
For implementing automatic alarm we use visual basic for user interface, Arduino and GSM module for taking critical alarm from system and send it to respective engineer.
At alarm handling page we have different buttons e.g. show Alarm, Critical alarm, send alarm etc. We create a database in which data of all alarms are stored. As data is raw so we apply sorting on it and process data of our choice. Arduino is interfaced with GSM module so when we have critical alarm, we will click on send alarm the data of that alarm is extracted from database and sent to Arduino. Arduino provide the information of Engineer to GSM. GSM will send call or message to respective Engineer when we click on sent alarm.
Benefits of the ProjectBenefit of the project is to design automatic alarm reporting system for speedy and timely rectification of problems in Telecommunication network and avoid revenue loss.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableIn first phase we create the user interface for our project. User interface is developed using Visual basic. User interface consist of a main page in which different function are performed like insertion of data, addition of data, searching data, updating data and deletion of data. Before creating a main page.
now we focus on take raw data and preprocess that data and our next step is to extract critical alarm from that data. After that we focus on interfacing of Arduino with GSM and with User interface. Last step is to take data from database and send to Arduino. Arduino send signal to GSM and GSM send message to respective engineer.
