Then afterwards the bill is generated from the office. The system is slow and time taking. Usually it takes days to collect readings of big villages or a city. We want to make a system that will be placed in the meter that will send the readings to the office automatically. So, it will take less time to get more readings and a smaller number of employees will be required. As it is a complete automated system so it will be more efficient and it will have less room of errors
Project Objectives- A system which can automatically run without meter reader.
- Get reading from the distinct areas in less time.
- An application for the user where the units consumed can be checked on daily basis.
We are using the arduino uno, a sim 900 gsm module and sensor to collect data. We are using the gsm technology to transport it
- The system will be more accurate.
- Less manpower will be required to collect data.
- As it is an automated system the system will run without any lags or delays.
- It will save a huge amount of budget that is used on meter readers.
- Small to medium weather disasters (rain, storms, hail) will not affect the process of reading.
An arduino uno will be used which will get data from the sensor (ACS712) and then count the units. These units will be the converted into the string form and will be passed to the gsm module. The gsm module will take the string which contain the units and will send it to the receiver side/ application as a text message. Our android application will then process the message received and then take data from it. Then the app will store the data on the cloud servers(firebase) and calculate the bill of the user. There will be a login functionality to differentiate the roles of the consumer and the company administrator. the company administrator can add or remove the connections and change the price of the units. The consumer can only see the units consumed.
